The scientist who has been put in charge of the Commerce Department's new climate change office is coming under attack from both sides of the global warming debate over his handling of what they say is contradictory scientific data related to the subject.
Thomas Karl, 58, was appointed to oversee the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Climatic Data Center, an ambitious new office that will collect climate change data and disseminate it to businesses and communities.
According to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, the office will "help tackle head-on the challenges of mitigating and adapting to climate change. In the process, we'll discover new technologies, build new businesses and create new jobs."
Karl, who has played a pivotal role in key climate decisions over the past decade, has kept a low profile as director of National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) since 1998, and he has led all of the NOAA climate services since 2009. His name surfaced numerous times in leaked "climate-gate" e-mails from the University of East Anglia, but there was little in the e-mails that tied him to playing politics with climate data. Mostly, the e-mails show he was in the center of the politics of climate change decisions

This indicates that the Obama Administration is dead-set on pushing through their Cap and Trade program. This is a very flawed choice - but he knows where all the bodies are buried. The odds of there ever being full access to the data have gone down markedly since open access can only lead to embarrassing “discoveries”. Tom Karl’s group has been responsible for promulagating a very small UHI effect which has exaggerated CO2 driven warming.
This gives him something to bloviate about after he loses the healthcare fiasco...which he will.
Is Thomas Karl a Clinton appointee?
He worked with the Clinton admin in some capacity but it might not have been as an appointee.
This guy is nothing more than a propaganda minister.
A whole office of the government dedicated to a fraud - one to destroy Capitalism, productivity, and the American way.

Thomas Karl is actually the most influential scientist in charge of the pro-AGW scam. He has kept a semi-low-profile but he has had the most influence on the scam of anyone; little did you know.
The NCDC is the base data centre for all of the temperature records and under the control of Thomas Karl over the past 15 years, the NCDC has systematically adjusted the records and increased the temperature trend of the last 150 years from about 0.3C to 0.7C.
I was hoping that putting Karl in charge of the new entity was a way of putting him out to pasture so that the temperature record could be fixed - but one never knows what is going on.

Every slithering POS that can be found ends up in the Obi from Nairobi administration. If all the poor folks black and other wise, and young ones and of course the dopes in between... had a clue as to what these clowns where up to... we would see twenty million march on the capital and burn the WhiteHouse down.
