Maybe the Republican Party of Illinois has caught on that the Tea Party is a libertarian/Ron Paul movement. Witness Ron Paul winning the CPAC presidential straw poll. The libertarians know what they are doing via founding and infilitrating the movement, duping true patriots.

However, it is clear in my mind that the following are NOT patriots: democrats, libertarians, Ron Paul followers and Ron Paul embracers.

Patriots believe in abiding by the U.S. Constitution and that means all of the Constitution, including the funding of a strong defense in both wartime and in peace. Ron Paul and his followers have been vocally opposed to this and, on top of it, Paul is a “truther.”

For patriotic Tea Partiers to say, as they have to me, that — even though they do not agree with his opposition to WOT — at least Paul advocates cutting spending, I say so do we all. However, what has Paul done as congressman to achieve cuts in spending? *Crickets*

Compromising with and embracing this libertarian movement that masquerades as Republican is the wrong path. Paul and the Tea Party will never be other than 3rd party, meaning an aid to getting democrats elected.

PATRIOTS need to re-think where they put their allegiance. CONSERVATIVES need to realize there is no such thing as “conservative libertarian.” Bottom line, we cannot call this a conservative movement without full support of our military and a strong defense.

Very well said and I will add more about the Paulbots who are anything but conservative.

How can you become a precinct chair when you don’t live in the precinct? That is exactly what Ron Paul supporters did in my precinct. Because of some of the work I am doing, I gave up the precinct chair because after six years frankly I found it to be a pain in the neck. Paul people took it over and about a week later I discovered that the guy and his wife who were now the princt chair and vice chair were not registered to vote in my precinct.

Stupid me went to the County Chair expecting something to be done like a new election. Not from the Paul supporter, he appointed a Paul person who did live in the precint.

Welcome to the world of Ron Paul as they systematically work to take over the GOP. We have had our last two state conventions with the Paul people trying to take over and they don’t play fair — they lie and cheat to get what they want. They have been repudiated twice in big numbers and already are working on next year’s precinct chair elections. Next year the rest of us are going to be attending in big numbers.

Paulbots want to become delegates to the National Convention and vote for Paul even if he doesn’t have the legal delegates — what do rules mean to them — zero, zip, nada.

How anyone could say a Libertarian is conservative is beyond me especially when you read these gems from the platform:

1.3 Personal Relationships

Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the rights of individuals by government, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships.

1.4 Abortion

Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

3.1 National Defense

We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world and avoid entangling alliances. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.

3.2 Internal Security and Individual Rights

The defense of the country requires that we have adequate intelligence to detect and to counter threats to domestic security. This requirement must not take priority over maintaining the civil liberties of our citizens. The Bill of Rights provides no exceptions for a time of war. Intelligence agencies that legitimately seek to preserve the security of the nation must be subject to oversight and transparency. We oppose the government’s use of secret classifications to keep from the public information that it should have, especially that which shows that the government has violated the law.

3.3 International Affairs

American foreign policy should seek an America at peace with the world and its defense against attack from abroad. We would end the current U.S. government policy of foreign intervention, including military and economic aid. We recognize the right of all people to resist tyranny and defend themselves and their rights. We condemn the use of force, and especially the use of terrorism, against the innocent, regardless of whether such acts are committed by governments or by political or revolutionary groups.

3.4 Free Trade and Migration

We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property.

SORRY You have got to retract your statement.

I was at the Illinois Republican Convention in Sept 2009. We were told by the Leadership of the Cook County Republican Party that they Formally invited Libertarians in the Republican party because they sat down with the Libertarians and discovere they were REALLY REPUBLICAN!.

((OF COURSE we know that they formally invited in the Libertarians because it SWELLS the numbers of MODERATE REPUBLICANS. ))

I am running for State Central Committee in Illinois. I consier my self a Tea Party Republican. Want to know where I stand??
