I don’t know about that. I’m not going to demean his military service. Besides, it’s irrelevant. The only thing that matters here is his suitability for re-election to the senate.
I won’t even demean Senator McCain’s job performance as a senator. He’s done an excellent job of stabbing conservatives in the back and thumbing his nose in our faces, in spite of which he’s actually managed to be re-elected before.
He may the leader of the reach-across-the-aisle faction, but he’s no fool. Like most politicians, he’s very adept at holding onto office no matter how much he ignores the constituents that put him there. Even as I write, John is making his once-every-six-years move to the right.
McCain is not going to go peacefully into retirement.
