"I strongly oppose this legislation. It takes our country in the wrong direction. It forces innocent taxpayers to bail out Government policies and Wall Street mistakes. It asks the American people to take a leap of faith and trust people who have consistently misled them. I am deeply saddened by the tone of this debate. I am afraid many of the supporters of this bill have bullied people into supporting it, using fear. There may be good reason for fear, but I think most people will agree that some of the statements have been reckless and irresponsible. I hope I am wrong and this bill will truly solve the problem. Let me say again that I know every one of my colleagues is doing what they believe is right for America. But based on what I know, I cannot in good conscience support it. I know the Senate is going to pass it tonight, and I can only hope the House will defeat it so we can pursue better alternatives. I thank the Chair, and I yield the floor." -Senator Jim DeMint
“I was misled on bailout”
LIAR!!!!
“Liar, liar pants on fire, Nose is longer than a telephone wire, Stick you head in a jelly jar, Then you wonder where you are”.
Then let him go out on disability.
That's gotta hurt.
Yes...glad you posted there were those who did speak out and knew what they were talking about....McCain left the campaign to supposedly get on top of the issue....he did not do his homework....I think he’s co-dependant on congress. Whatever he has to say and do to appease them and stay in their good graces....this was learned behavior while in the war camps...
I think he also apologizes alot to congressional politicians...important to him to be liked and accepted. He was this way when running for Pres...he could not nail Bo as he had opportunity to...win or loose he had to protect himself, if he lost, as he’d be back in congress and would not want to have been blackballed. His Congresstional seat met more than Pres. seat. And it means more to him now than ever before...I think we’ll see him get nasty now.
He has been mislead all his life apparently.
No, you weren’t.
Did you hear the one about the Black guy and the Baptist?
Did I ping you to this yet?
>I realize that people generally don’t care about prison inmates but what happens when the unions and government decide to create more jobs for guards by creating more prison inmates. Hell they could solve the whole unemployment problem by removing people from the economy and making them inmates while creating a need for more guards at the same time.<
They will probably do exactly that before it’s over...
I don’t think so. I always find it funny how liberals always manage to find Conservatism during election season, and go back to bidness as usual the day after they’re reelected...
Unionized police, unionized court employees, and unionized prisons sounds like a recipe for disaster.
May I humbly suggest we email and fax that picture to McCain’s various offices.
LOL..
I’m not as sharp as I used to be.
Re-Elect me and I promise I’ll do better.
How pitiful. Right or wrong, stand by your vote, McCain. If you want to say that on further reflection you were wrong, that’s one thing. But to say you were misled is cowardly and stupid.
Doesn’t he remember what happened to George Romney? Or maybe he was a prisoner by that time.
