I think we may have a Romney supporter here folks...
Please say it ain’t so. I am so tired of these RINOS who want to control just like the lefties.
I am no fan of Romney at all, BUT I do think he stands a very good chance of winning against Obama. We here understand that he’s a RINO, but to the majority of Americans, he will be everything Obama isn’t/wasn’t: experienced in governing, level-headed, no Chicago thuggery, not closely associated with unions (at least not at the level of Obama, but that would be hard to match), pro-business.
It won’t be a matter of how we conservatives PERCEIVE him but how the rank and file voter PERCEIVES him. Obama has been so far out in left field and so amateurish, that, in comparison, Romney is the one who looks presidential. I do think he’d have a very good chance of winning.
Won’t vote for him. Thanks.
So you think that they would just ignore the failure of Romney care?
I think that the health care issue is what got people all fired up at town hall meetings and tea parties. It wasn’t the only issue but surely a major one. Why would the public turn around then and vote for someone who brought the same type of socialized healthcare to his own state? And why would the republican party put forth the same failed candidate a second time?
You do that and candidates like Romney will be the only candidates that the republican party puts forth in the future. Things will never change. It would be a huge mistake and I think would guarantee a second Obama term.
I won’t be voting RINO ever again. Hope the GOP figures out there are millions of us.
RINO part aside, I just don’t think a Mormon can carry the Bible Belt. Without that a Republican doesn’t stand a chance.
Good point/counterpoint.
He was my third pick last go-round after Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson. McCain was my last and to this day I would still vote for him over Barack Obama.
That said...these statists REALLY suck. ALL of them.
I’m sure Romney will be in the mix and he will probably sink to my last pick this time around. It’s like a recurring nightmare.
(Looking forward to November 2010)
At this point, it looks to me like it will be Palin vs. Romney for the 2012 GOP nomination. I do think both will run. Both are very familiar now with Presidential politics, Romney having run in the 2008 primary and Palin having run in the 2008 general election as McCain’s VP. Romney would probably get most of the “establishment” endorsements, while Palin would probably get the backing of the up-and-coming conservatives that will be the new lifeblood of the GOP. Romney will criticize Palin for quitting as governor, while Palin can criticize Romney for NOT quitting after governing as such a liberal.

Read the article and wasn’t just a fluff piece. One point that stood out in my mind was that Romney’s book is primarily a policy book whereas Sarah’s was more of an introduction to her and her campaign experiences. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe she’s working on a second book that will address policy matters.
I just hope that Romney just doesn’t lock up support for 2012 such that true conservative Republicans are kept from getting into the race because they perceive it as a losing uphill battle. That leaves it to Sarah as she is the only one who can raise the money and attract the crowds to counter Romney.
Step by step, Romney lining up support for 2012

Both people in the line are probably disappointed that he couldn’t even win his own straw poll.
Fine. I wouldn’t vote for him for town hairdresser, much less President. He’s a better liar than Bill Clinton.
The only reason I voted for McCain was because of Sarah. If he had picked anyone else he would have lost by a much bigger margin. Romney, besides being a RINO, reminds me of a much too slick politician. Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxory of sitting on the sidelines in 2012 and letting Obama run the country into the ground more than he has already. Hell, we may not even make it to then with his policies.
IOTW, we don’t have the luxury of picking another RINO that millions of conservatives will not vote for. Hope it doesn’t happen, but it might.
I wont be voting RINO ever again. Hope the GOP figures out there are millions of us.

John Gibson on Sirius radio doesn’t get it.
He spent a whole show on voting for a RINO or a Dem.
Voting for the RINO was better is his idea.
NO John, when will the GOP learn that we don’t want a RINO?
AFTER THEY LOSE AND LOSE AND LOSE
Good Thing. Romney is one of our best bets. I hope he is our next president. Yeah, call me a Romneybot. Flame on, Let the circular firing squad begin. But Romney is a proven organizational and financial manager and that is just what our country needs.
And his social values are right in line with mine, probably yours, and many other social conservatives. He is pro life. All he was saying in Mass was that he would enforce the laws on the books, which is all that any elected official must do.
Flame Away.
Well, they haven’t yet and I’m not holding my breath.
