After spending more than a month searching for a missing Deep River, Ont. scientist, Ontario Provincial Police say they have done everything they can to track him down, but have exhausted all the possible leads.
Lachlan Cranswick vanished on Jan. 18 after leaving work at the National Research Council's Canadian Neutron Beam Centre in Chalk River, and was reported missing a few days later when the avid curler failed to show up for a tournament.
Police searched the home of the 41-year-old and found his front door was unlocked. Inside, his wallet and passport were still there -- as well as his car. Authorities searched nearby trails thinking he may have gone for a walk, but his friends noted the safety-conscious scientist never strayed far without a GPS. They ended up finding no trace of him.
Colleagues say Cranswick, 41, did not appear to be depressed before he disappeared.
