It isn’t impossible to stop illegal immigration

Many people would have us believe that it would not actually be possible to round up and deport all illegal aliens in the U.S. This is most definitely not the case. It is merely a lack of resolve to do so. How can I say this? Easy. It’s been done successfully multiple times in the past. In fact, three of our most well-known presidents initiated successful illegal alien deportation programs.

First, President Herbert Hoover, during the great depression, ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work. My question is, why would you have to make an exception to “business as usual” to enforce the law?

Next, the greatly respected President Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after World War II to create jobs for returning veterans. Were they allowed in because of a workforce shortage during WWII? I suppose that could be a reason they were here.

Finally and most recently, beginning in 1954, the very popular and practical President Dwight Eisenhower successfully deported millions of illegal alien Mexican nationals in a program called “Operation Wetback”, which lasted two years. Again, this was reportedly done to make more jobs available for World War II and Korean War veterans.

We now have a huge number of citizens out of work, including returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems we ought to be able to do the same thing today. All that is required is that we actually enforce the law. There is nothing “ambiguous” or “complicated” about illegal immigration. It’s illegal, the people doing it know it, and they are therefore criminals who should be arrested and deported. The people that deliberately hire illegals should be arrested and jailed or fined heavily.

We could put a stop to the current situation if politicians weren’t often criminal co-conspirators, and law enforcement agencies either disinterested, or told to look the other way. I was stunned to watch a video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi telling a Hispanic group in San Francisco that she considered illegal aliens “patriotic.”

Where did she come up with that idiotic idea? I have long felt that the Democratic Party is not interested in deporting illegal aliens, because they are considered future democratic voters. The situation in PEisenhower’s time sounds eerily like that today. In the 2006 publication of Christian Science Monitor, an article includes how Eisenhower dealt with border crossings.

“In a letter to Sen. William Fulbright, Eisenhower quoted a report in The New York Times that said, “The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican ‘wetbacks’ (rooted from the watery route taken by the Mexican immigrants across the Rio Grande) to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government.”

So the U.S has repeatedly shown that, given the will to do so, rounding up and deporting illegal aliens is not only possible, but has been shown to not harm our economy or made it impossible to produce any particular goods or services. Let’s just get on with it and get it done.

Yeah, who says were not be invaded?

They had a great story about Cartels coming here to kidnapp/other assorted crimes on “America’s Most Wanted” last night. Made you want to go after them yourself.

You are absolutely correct. With no jobs and no food stamps they would find their way home just like they found their way here- all by themselves with no government help. We could create temporary worker visas good for one year, and issue them at our embassies overseas. Here at home enforcement would be simple; no new visa, no job. After about a year of this we should start cracking down on employers. Notice, no where did I mention “path to citizenship”.

In fact it would be damned easy! Arrest illegals and throw them out of the country. Put armed forces on the border with shoot to kill orders. Imprison any US employer who has illegal workers. And CUT OFF THE FREEBIES—from medical care and welfare to instant citizenship for babies. Problem solved.

Next month a lot of people are going to be running out of unemployment insurance. That's when you are going to see the resentment begin to build over illegals working and Americans losing everything.

I suspect that if the government doesn't do something, desperate people are going to start doing it for themselves.

MOREOVER, what nobody is talking about anymore, STOPPING THE INVASION AND FORCING ILLEGAL ALIENS OUT OF THE USA!! If this isn’t dealt with now; the changing demographics, fraud, unions and Blacks will ensure the creation of a ruling regime that would put the Soviet and Chicom ones to shame.

Secure ID Act -

All US Citizens will have to obtain a Secure Picture ID. Every Citizen is uniquely identified.

Every Visitor to the US is fingerprinted, photographed and issued a temporary ID.

Unless a business owner/self employed person can positively ID a person with one of these 2 IDs, they will face 10 years in prison for hiring anyone to work for them without being IDed..

The illegal aliens will go home.

How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico

Would anyone have the guts to do this today?

Why don’t we just bump unemployment up to a U3 equal to 17% for a year or two or three. Oh, we’d have to stop illegal’s entitlements at the same time to make it work.

I don’t think we need temporary workers in this economy. I don’t think there are any jobs that unemployed Americans won’t do right now.

I agree with you. There should never be a reward (path to citizenship) for breaking the law. Besides, most illegals don’t want to be participating members of our society. They just want to be free to work and send money home. They care nothing about assimilating into our culture and remain loyal to their home country.

We also need to stop the anchor baby problem and make English our official language.

It has always been about, and only about, the will of the government to do their job.

But this corrupt government doesn’t want to do its job, because nothing would serve the needs of the lifelong political class more than 12 to 20 million freshly minted US citizens, largely illiterate and begging for handouts.

Every time an illegal drunk driver or an MS13 gangbanger kills an American citizen, the blood is on the hands of Pelosi, Reed, Ghamnesty, and Juan McCain, et al.

Every time an illegal alien takes a job that could be done by a citizen, it is a failure of this government to serve the People.

The multibillion dollar people smuggling, document forgery, and identity theft industries are the direct result of this government failing to do its job in managing the borders and enforcing immigration laws.

We don’t have to deport them all. Just make it impossible to get a job while illegal. They’ll leave on their own.

Rush Limbaugh’s solution. Let’s begin with trying to deport 3% of the 12 m illegals and see how that works

Try 40 million, not to mention the millions of anchor babies.

Limbaugh is a talk show host and Johnny come lately to the open borders violent lawlessness...I don't think he ever mentioned the borders until 2002, years after CA prop 187.

The borders are wide open due to wide spread corruption within the federal government. It's no secret. They have absolutely no desire to secure our borders and would have done so 30 years ago if desired. The people/corporation owners that are funding the campaigns of the corrupt politicians, have no desire to have their golden goose killed.

Ya think during world war II the federal government would have stood by and watched a conga-line of tens of millions enter illegally along with God knows what else?

The epic lawless invasion of our country, is no mistake, and has been aided and abetted by our own government.

Just make it impossible to get a job while illegal.

The corrupt government has no desire to prosecute, fine, seize assets and or jail employers that knowingly hire millions of illegal aliens. The companies and corporations that hire them are funding the campaigns of the elected corrupt.

Bush publicly aided and abetted this violent invasion...It was discovered his Chief of Homeland security had people wandering around the inside of his private residence that were in this country illegally. No joke. Ohama is a amateur street Communist from Chicago...

Don't look for enforcement of our borders anytime soon..War time or not.

It's dereliction of duty (failure to comply or uphold federal immigation laws) all the way from the bottom to the top of this nation (including the judicial system) for the purpose of satiating lobbyists, farmers and industries who donate to political campaigns to get cheap labor at the cost of destoying our nation's sovereignty and also for political parties to add voting pawns at the cost of destroying American jobs, homes, cars and all subsequent economic woes currently destroying our nation's finances.

Democrats have pure and utter disregard and disrespect for American workers and America's unemployed by promising amnesty for illegals to Hispanic activist groups.

Border agent suspected of selling uniforms

In a search warrant affidavit filed Friday, investigators claim an Internet address linked to the Craigslist.org post was traced to the Bellingham home of the retired Border Patrol agent. An FBI agent claiming to be a customer then purchased the uniform from the man, who allegedly mailed the FBI uniform shirts, pants and a jacket bearing a Border Patrol badge patch.

Obama reneges on border funding

A week ago, President Barack Obama was in front of TV cameras addressing the GOP and the American people. He stated emphatically that there would not be any cuts in the budget to Homeland Security, Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security.

On Tuesday, your newspaper reported that Obama is urging enormous cuts in the Border Patrol ("Obama budget grim on jobs"). Is the Border Patrol not under the Department of Homeland Security?

This is a little off the main subject, but why does Canada have a longer life expectancy than the USA (as the obamacare followers keep chanting)? I suspect one reason is that Canada does not have 10s of millions of illegal aliens and chain migrants from countries that have lower life expectancies than either the USA or Canada. If I am correct about that, even if congress were to pass a Republican version of healthcare reform (tort reform, insurance available across state lines, etc.), if illegals (and legal aliens via chain migration), the USA life expectancy will still be lower, and the Dems will say we need to spend more money.

Yes, part of our problem is native born couch potatoes, but I think the medical condition of many illegal and legal aliens does affect these numbers.

Unfortunately, the landscape is littered with tens of thousands of American victims of violent crimes at the hands of illegal aliens.

This should have, and could have been stopped years ago.

Profits over patriotism.

Profits regardless of consequence.

Profits regardless of consequence.

More Americans are dying daily and yearly at the hands of illegal aliens on our own streets, neighborhoods and in our own homes than in the two wars we are fighting in the Middle East, yet the politicians we have elected are not held accountable in any way, shape or form for this outrage against Americans by their outright negligence and refusal (Janet Napolitano) to uphold existing immigration laws.
