Christie has his hands full...

From the article: "While it’s no surprise the unions have favored Democratic candidates, the records show just how lopsided that support has been.

The big unions funneled more than $814,400 in campaign contributions to Democrats in New Jersey last year — nearly four times the amount that went to Republicans, according to the records.

The unions’ political action committees put even more into television ads and direct mail attacking the Republican candidate for governor, Christie."

The battle will have to be fought. Currently public employee unions are like a Ponzi scheme. Those in early are really doing well. However, the one flaw in any Ponzi scheme is the need for “new” money to pay out.

The new money has to come from taxpayers and fees or from the union members themselves.

The truth is, there is not enough money in the world for a Ponzi scheme to work, it will always fall apart. The only question is when.

The sad part for all is even if the unions win this battle with the NJ Governor they will lose the war in the end.

Unions are just one parasite feeding on governments there are others. Like all parasites they first weaken and then eventually kill the host.

I do not wish to predict what is going to happen when this house of cards finally come down, but I suspect public employee unions may become illegal even if it takes a constitutional amendment.

It the unions were wise they would accept some changes if for no other reason then to save what they have. But I don’t see that happening.

The sun is shining a little bit brighter in NJ since Christie became Governor. Big fight ahead, but there are a few conservatives left here who will fight along side with him.
Big supporter, Christie, continue.

NO MORE FUNDING OF PENSIONS FROM FUTURE TAX DOLLARS. THIS POLICY MUST STOP OR COUNTRY FACES RUIN. PENSIONS MUST BE FUNDED ON PAY AS YOU GO BASIS. WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THIS MADNESS.

My take on this is that it has nothing to do with partisan politics at all. New Jersey has reached the point where the only alternative to a major overhaul of the public employee system is a complete collapse of the state’s finances.

Don’t forget that Christie was US Attorney for NJ for a lot of years. He knows where all the union bodies are buried, including Jimmy Hoffa’s. This situation is very similar to when Giulliani was elected as NYC’s mayor. The unions can speak with bravado, but my guess is that they are quaking in their boots and when push comes to shove, they will roll over. Its either that or many alarming disclosures or union abuses are going to be publicized. People will be very surprised how quickly the unions fade away.

Governor Christie promised a new direction, but after a few weeks he’s back to the old Trenton ways of doing business..."

If that were true, unions wouldn't be running ads against him. The old ways are what enriched the parasitic class and bankrupted treasuries where dems dominate.

"WE CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THIS MADNESS."

We never could afford this madness. It is only now that it is becoming obvious to everyone except the most determined ostrich.

It the unions were wise they would accept some changes if for no other reason then [sic] to save what they have.

No way. The unions are not near intelligent enough to see what a smart move that would be.

I recently found out that NJ teachers pay NOTHING for their health insurance. The rest of us schlups are paying plenty for ours it’s about time they chip in something.

Christie will have to take a page from Reagan’s book...lay the facts before the people. Most NJ residents don’t appreciate giving 3 million of their tax dollars to the retirement fund of some clerk at the drivers license bureau.
