Beck’s UK broadcast runs without ads; over 100 companies have ditched Beck
Jack & Jill Politics ^ | February 16, 2010 | James Rucker

Yesterday, for the fifth day in a row, the UK broadcast of Glenn Beck’s TV show was forced to run without any advertisements. This is thanks to efforts by StopBeck.com to pressure companies advertising on Beck’s UK broadcast.

While Beck’s UK broadcast has been forced to run without ads, his US broadcast has been reduced to running promos for other shows on Fox, ads from direct marketers (think exercise equipment and gold coins) and a handful of private companies headed by right-wingers.

He did tell his audience what was coming two years before the financial meltdown of 2008 and people before that happened were saying what you just said... until it happened and then it was oops, Beck warned us this was coming.

It seems so. At least at times.

Actually I worry about him sometimes. It seems like he's on the edge of something, but I'm not sure what it is.

All you have to do is the simple Math, we need only to pay attention, cause we most certainly cannot pay the Bill.

OK. I agree. I'm totally on board with that. We can't "pay the Bill."

I didn't ask for this. I didn't ask for TARP, I didn't ask for porkulus, I didn't ask for socialized health care, or socialized anything. I didn't ask for Obama. I voted for McCain; I didn't like him, I thought he was a jerk, and still do, but I didn't set the agenda or make the rules.

Recessions come and go. Every few years we have a recession. It's bad. It's tough. It's nerve-wracking. But eventually, they end. Borrowing trillions of dollars to stop a recession, or "stop a recession from turning into a depression" is ridiculous. It's just going to make it worse.

But what am I supposed to do about it? Tear off my clothers, set myself on fire, and run down the street screaming at the top of my lungs? What good will that do?

That seems to be Glenn Becks prescription. Well, maybe I exaggerate. A little.

why would they pull adds from one of the most watched shows on tv.

The media leftists in this country do the same thing. They are "above" the profit motive. That is why they are willing to run their newpapers, magazines, cable shows, etc... into the ground financially before they would ever give America, the Constitution or Conservatism any kind of positive representation.

The Media Darwin Awards should be started for these nimrods.

"The left is attacking Beck by attacking and bullying his advertisers."

Yeah that is working real well I bet.

Beck's 5PM numbers are beating some of the Big thress Preim Time Numbers.

As long as people are watching in these huge numbers this tactic ain't gonna work.

You are right. I watch his show but dang I had to change the channel I starting thinking about killing my dog. Not really I don’t have a dog! But you are right and he really has nothing to say good about anything.

These "geniuses" will get more bang for their buck advertising on shows no one watches ... like Hairball.

***Glenn needs to do some change-ups every now and then***

I believe he has taken your advice.

His *progressive* series began very soberly - then he seemed to get caught up in a roller-coaster of discovery, drama, moments of clairvoyance and lunacy.

He is, I believe, a serious patriot, an entertainer - and an ego-driven show-off. I also believe he has frightened himself.

The last time I switched on - his personae was the role of understated professor.

I respect what he is trying to do - INFORM THE PEOPLE - he will not be right on every issue - nor will he be wrong on every issue. We should be discriminating too.

Glenn Beck might be many things, but he is NOT A RACIST!

Maybe it went to his head. Maybe he thinks that now that he called the future correctly, he can go on the radio and hint darkly about his "big project" that he's doing "research" for, and spend large blocks of his show time telling us about the horror that awaits, and that that will be enough to stop it from happening. We all just get so scared we are wetting our pants, and somehow the freight train will screech to a halt before it smashes through our living room window.

Maybe what happened to John Zogby has happened to Beck. He called one election right down to the decimal point, with his "secret sauce" and all, and he got the idea that he was infallable. Just because he saw reality once, he got the idea he could see it every time, and maybe modify it too.

He's never duplicated his success of 1992, at least in his publicly-released poll results. Maybe his for-hire, privately released results are better, I don't know.

Success can be a dangerous thing, especially in the nutso world of the main-stream media in the 21st century.

Beck isnt on radio here. None of the major US hosts like Limbaugh, Air America are.

Most commercial radio is music based, and local.

Funny you say that- yesterday I mentioned that in a thread comparing Rush to Glenn. I said I never worry that Rush is going to have a nervous breakdown on the air..and he’s becoming our own Olbermann.

Every now and then he’ll have a good day- lucid, calm, clever and informative. Sadly that’s now more the exception than the rule.

I keep him in prayer- he worries me.

More than half the list never advertised on his show to begin with. They are just now saying that they won’t. In other words, they don’t matter either way.

This is nonsense.

Fox News in Britain runs with no ad breaks on any programme!. The ad breaks are always filled with British news and weather headlines.

He doesn't think he's a profit . Beck knows he is there to make a profit. If he wasn’t doing well he would not be on the air .

The lecture format gets really old as well. Especially when the depth of analysis isn’t there.
