Concerns about New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg's health pose yet another challenge for Democrats struggling to retain control of the Senate.

Lautenberg's announcement Friday that he's suffering from stomach lymphoma and will receive treatment over the next few months could complicate matters for Democrats as they seek to muster enough votes to overcome Republican delaying tactics over jobs, health care and more.

Christie’s election may have been a two-fer!

Surely if Corzine were in Trenton, Lautenberg would retire tomorrow.

Well, given that they push Senator Byrd/ninety-two out on the floor in a wheel chair to vote; hard to know what to expect. ..or at least, ‘when’.

You notice how the Democrats leave the Republicans sitting out in the hall when all of the planning is done and then they call the Republicans protests “delaying tactics”.

My belief is that after 2010 these tactics will belong to the Democrats. Hopefully with a republican Congress the Republicans will this time act like Republicans.

Problem with this “news report” is that I understood the dearly-beloved democratic “sinator” from NJ fell (in his house) and went to the hospital for (at least one) broken bone in his leg.

Odd they are describing an illness in this story. At 86, he may be suffering from both? Was this written before he fell?

Of course, never mentioned is the fact that his entire “nomination” was an illegal “selection” by the national demon-autocratic party when poll results showed the republican would have won. Well AFTER the NJ legal primary election date and ballot selection!

Plus, he ordered the ambulance to take him to a prestigious NY hospital known for cancer treatment...not the required nearest hospital. Under Obamacare, you and I wouldn’t get the same drive to NYC.

Lautenberg shouldn’t be there in the first place.

Didn’t he get elected after the democrats in New Jersey lost their original candidate and should not have been able to put Lautenberg on the ballot except for a questionable ruling by a NJ judge?

Can an embalmed senator vote in the Senate? Embalmed voters vote in New Jersey elections all the the time.

Lautenberg should have resigned while Corzine was still governor but he is too vain and self-important. Had Kennedy retired once he knew he had terminal cancer a Democrat would have been appointed and would have been running as an incumbent, giving a big advantage. Probably no Scott Brown.

We can finally find a good side to these two corrupt and divisive low-lives.

The NJSC allowed the switcheroo from Torricelli to Lautenberg, in full defiance of state law.

They can say anything they want about his condition, but he is pretty much done.

The chatter about his prognosis is the same as it was for Kennedy.

It is all about power and personal perks. These old farts don’t care about America as much as the fine dining, personal power trips and flashing camera’s everytime they belch. He needs to retire and go fry on a beach.

He does need to retire, but he hasn't far to go in this life.

He is looking Death right in the eye and refusing to believe in his own mortality.
