Oh, I know it's a hard fight. Every time I've written against gay marriage, gay unions, gay adoption, gays in the military, or any of the other gay agenda items, I've received the standard responses about how I'm a bigot, how I hate gays, how I'm intolerant.

But those are lies. And that still does matter to the ignorant squishy moderate muddle that drive the electoral process. And for me, it's not a political strategy, I really don't HATE gay people. I've had to work with gay people, I had to live around gay people. I've had to minister to gay people. I felt sorry for them, I prayed for them, I didn't hate them.

And when I argue against allowing gay scout masters, because I know it is not out of animus, the argument can be that much more persuasive.

We are damned if we do, damned if we don’t so why bother to compromise our position on this issue?

I don't think we should compromise our position, and I apologize if it sounded like I did. I'm not talking about opposing the gay agenda. I'm certainly not speaking AGAINST Ryan's speech at CPAC, and I'm not defending CPACs sponsorship by GOProud (although I will defend the choice of speakers who decided to speak at CPAC).

When the GOP platform tries to conform to the latest special interest group or bends the platform in an attempt to garner a few thousand more votes, we all lose.

I agree with that as well, but I don't think the party has to personally condemn people who are homosexual in order to avoid "conforming the platform" to the gay agenda.

I just think the political party should focus on what impacts government, which means opposing the gay agenda. I don't think the political party should try to "save" homosexuals. That's our job as individuals to witness to the lost.

Wow. Good thing you felt forced by your religion, on pain of death, to do all those awful things. Clearly you wouldn’t have if you had your druthers.

For Conservatives to win, we do have to condemn homosexuals and their lifestyle every single time it is forced on the country, our families and especially our children.

Condemnation does not equal hate, though many on here and most on the left would like us to think so.

This argument reminds me of a few people on FR who claim to be 100% pro-life, on all issues. Because they hold this position, if a GOP candidate is put forth to them they do not find to be “pro-life enough” they state, in all sincerity, that they will vote for the Dem. Then they get pissed when it is pointed out how incredibly hypocritical they are being.

Yes, Jesus said hate the sin but love the sinner. He didn’t say bring the sinner into your home, allow them to keep sinning, support them in their sin and encourage others to do the same. He said STOP SINNING NOW!

By not condemning in the strongest terms the homosexual agenda and those who are forcing it on us, we are no better than the “pro-life” voter casting a ballot for a Dem. We most certainly go against God and the teachings of His Son.

Some battle can not be won through diplomacy, compromise and being agreeable - this is one of those cases.
