I’ve had to work with gay people, I had to live around gay people. I’ve had to minister to gay people.

Wow. Good thing you felt forced by your religion, on pain of death, to do all those awful things. Clearly you wouldn’t have if you had your druthers.
You are correct in one sense. My lifestyle makes it highly unlikely that i would interact with gay people. They aren’t likely to be at my church, or among my close friends since we share views about morality that wouldn’t be attractive to gay people.
But I don’t choose who I work with, at college I didn’t choose who was assigned to the dorm. And I didn’t choose who decided to attend our non-denominational singles bible study.
But I didn’t mean to imply that I found interaction with gays burdensome. These obviously weren’t gay activists that would be annoying, within the areas of interaction they were mostly undistinguishable from any other people I dealt with. I also work with people of other religions, I work with people who are cohabitating without marriage. I can maintain congenial professional relationships.
So no, I don’t hate gay people, but I don’t seek out interaction with gay people; mostly I don’t want to know about people’s sex life.
