Man dies after fall from Miami-bound jet; it’s latest example of desperate stowaway
South Florida Sun Sentinel ^ | February 19, 2010 | Ken Kaye

About four times a year, somewhere in the world, someone sneaks into the wheel well of a parked jet and attempts to survive an incredibly dangerous ride, frequently to the United States.

Usually, the stowaways die, as was the case on Thursday, when a man climbed into the wheel well of a Miami-bound cargo jet while it was on a ramp in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.

Sounds like a security problem. Suppose someone wanted to sabotage the jet and was willing to die in carrying out the mission?

If these folks are attempting to get to a free country, they are sadly misinformed.

Double the tragedy quotient.

If they just go to Mexico, then can get in without a hassle.

“”The TSA reviews and approves these plans, and airports and airlines are subject to regulatory inspections by TSA inspectors,” she said.”

TSA, home of “fast food industry rejects” is ‘inspecting’ anything?

Those gooberment goobers can barely manage to strap on their guns. Yeah, I do know this, because I helped to teach an NRA course and there were two TSAPersons in it.

One was removed part way through the course for low performance, attitude problems, etc.

At the end, the other TSAPerson (manager) agreed with the removal.

That’s a 50% failure for TSA, folks. And that group included an upper level manager, too.

Was he trying to escape from Florida?

Between the illegals, taxes, endless benefits for illegals and illegal Haitians it has become a sewer. Thanks Charlie Crist.

How hard would it be to post a sign inside the wheel wells of large planes, WARNING: TEMPERATURES IN FLIGHT REACH -50F, COMPARTMENT NOT PRESSURIZED AND YOU WILL SUFFOCATE. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, YOU WILL MISS SITTING NEXT TO THE FAT GUY IN FRONT OF A CRYING BABY WHILE DRINKING YOUR 2oz SOFT DRINK WATCHING A MOVIE THAT CAME OUT IN THE EIGHTIES.

There’s not enough room in a wheel-well for a notice that would need to be reproduced in thirty-eight different languages. Like the “book” that comes with every electronic product purchased these days, when you finally get to the English translation, it’s only two paragraphs long, but you the consumer paid for thirty-six pages of imbecilic tripe.

Most of which are lawyer-induced disclaimers and warnings.

"Always wear safety glasses when operating this PDA" sort of stuff.

Remember the body found in the wheel well of a Delta flight that had arrived in Japan from NYC earlier this month? They found a cell phone on him. Last call was from Lagos, Nigeria on Dec 17th. Apparently, the plane had been flying all over the world with him there without anyone noticing.

Yeah, but the ‘80s movies are better than most of the drek of the past several years. “Airplane !” for example.

You got a point. He doesn't even need to be willing to die. If a guy can get on the field and sneak into the wheel well, he can just as easily plant a bomb in the wheel well.

“According to The Boston Globe, Chavez in the past two years has given Citizens 83 million gallons of crude oil. Citizens has sold the oil for $164 million and used the profit to fund its charity. Kennedy’s salary at Citizens is more than $500,000 a year, paid mostly from Citizens Enterprise Corp., a for-profit company that handles Kennedy’s related business ventures.”

What a guy!
