Rep. Joe Sestak (D., Pa.) said yesterday that the White House offered him a federal job in an effort to dissuade him from challenging Sen. Arlen Specter in the state's Democratic primary.

I just saw him on with Martha McCallum and he was sooooooo nasty!
That would depend on your Party affiliation...
LOL!
Nah Joe is a flaming liberal and the Tea Party would have nothing to do with this buffoon.
Was it offered in the way of “Wouldn’t you like the cushy federal position and the option to run again instead of having us completely dig up every skeleton we can find, float nasty rumors about your relationship with a plumber’s assistant, and put the screws to those supplying you with campaign funds?”
“Was it secretary of the Navy?” Kane asked.
“No comment,” Sestak said.
“Was it [the job] high-ranking?” Kane asked. Sestak said yes, but added that he would “never leave” the Senate race for a deal.
The Chicago Way!
Is this legal?
“It’s just like Arlen Specter to get an insider Washington deal to try to save his political career.”
Spector is a loathsome cancer on the face of American politics.
Its all about him - on every issue. Not for one nannosecond has this political harlot ever done anything on the basis of what is best for America.
Its past time for this serial political criminal to be flushed down the toilette of history.
It might take a lot of draino to remove the stain.
Except now, after going public, the job offer has changed to an ambassadorship to the Mariana Trench.
Speaking of flaming Joe is now carbonized.
Oops, responded as if this was a JOE STACK thread.
I asked the same question earlier.
That's a bribe. An impeachable offense.
Depends upon the meaning of “illegal”
WOW...amazing.
which makes me wonder can specter get reelected as a dem. if he gets the primary, can he win against toomey?
Bribery is only against the law for private citizens, not the Public Masters and Lawgivers.
“which makes me wonder can specter get reelected as a dem. if he gets the primary, can he win against toomey?”
Not really. The campaigning hasn’t started, but Toomey has a great chance here in PA given the current political climate. Keep in mind that Santorum won PA in 2000 despite Gore carrying the state.
it is standard operating procedure. Once you recruit a flip-flopper to cross the aisle you are stuck supporting him no matter what, or else your future recruiting efforts are toast. Glad that Arlen is the Dems problem now.
