Uh, This Is Not Good

From Rasmussen:

The founding document of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, states that governments derive “their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Today, however, just 21% of voters nationwide believe that the federal government enjoys the consent of the governed.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 61% disagree and say the government does not have the necessary consent. Eighteen percent (18%) of voters are not sure.

Uh, there is no way for Washington DC to force people to believe they have given consent. They can only act in a fashion that engenders willfully-given consent.

In light of what happened today in Austin TX, this ought to be resulting in sobering reflection among the "political class." It won't, but it should.

Why?

Historians have estimated that between 15 and 20 percent of the white population of the colonies were Loyalists.[2] Historian Robert Middlekauff estimates that about 500,000 colonists, or 19 percent of the white population, remained loyal to Britain.[3]

I had no idea the numbers were this bad at present, but I was aware that in 1776 about 20% of the population was in fact in support of Britain.

I think it's getting to be about time to.....

Oh, there is. We take back the House and Senate and then every bill that is introduced is a Tea Party Bill to restore our Consititution. If Zero won’t sign them we just get a couple extra seats in the Senate in 2014 and a new president and then we start going back to what worked. I hear they are saying there are as many as 94 Dems vulnerable in the House and perhaps 12 or 13 in the Senate. If we can get Teddy’s seat we can get all of them. Then we get our contry back. We have a lot of bills to pay but once we get started it will be constant movement in the RIGHT direction. The commies can go to Cuba or Venezuela.

Who’s “We”? When the GOP had control they did just as badly. Therefore “take back” doesn’t work. TAKE OVER does!

GOP- Here’s your message-
* Confess that you screwed up
* Acknowledge that you HEAR what we’re saying now
* Promise- in WRITING- that you will do what needs to be done
* Pray that we believe you

OR YOU CAN ALL POUND SAND!!

When the GOP had control they did just as badly.

The elites on both sides believe that anyone who won't perpetuate the problem is not fit to govern.

The Dems have to defend 23 seats in 2012/\. Many are first term rookies in red states.

“We” aren’t running. The Tea Party isn’t running. Republicans are running and after the last decade or so it should be clear they do not represent us.

Good point! Actually in the global economic scheme of things we are supposed to be the debt people buying crap and they are to be the slave people selling us stuff cheap. They will never give up on this model. We have to boot them and globalism.

“The commies can go to Cuba or Venezuela.”

Actually, let’s liberate Cuba, make it a territory of the US, and enjoy some cigars while helping the people get back on their feet. Seriously, I have hear nothing but nice things about Cuba as a tourist destination during the pre-Castro era :-).

Also, getting Chavez out of South America would be a good thing. I’m not saying we have to do all of this nation building, but ridding the world of Communism is a good thing.

I should finish that up by saying that all the liberals and Commies are free to have the whole continent of Antartica since it is probably going to become livable again once we drive up CO2 emissions while getting America back on her feet.

I heard a republican candidate on the radio the other day make the comment. “If the republicans win in November they had better be the real thing this time around because we won’t get another chance with the people.”

He’s right...
