If it doesn’t say it, it’s not necessarily safe to presume it.

Shows how little Elton knows about Jesus. Sad.

"Jesus was almost certainly married, as all men of adult age were expected to be, especially rabbis. Just because something is not in the Bible, doesnt mean it didnt happen." Logically speaking, that would be a perfectly reasonable presumption. Many, I'm sure, will take that statement as blasphemous in and of itself. But, given the social and religious conventions (Jesus was an observant Jew, a Rabbi in fact) of the time, it would have been highly unusual if he wasn't married, yet the conventional lore is that he wasn't; A mystery that will perhaps never be solved.
To: metmom
He would not have been listened to during that time period if he hadn’t been.

I plan to ask him that question one day.

If you study the time period you will come to the exact same conclusion, whether that’s “good” or “bad” remains to be seen.

He wasn’t. Not by the religious leaders of the day.
It was the sinners and publicans of the day, and those He healed, demonstrating who he was.

Somewhat remember long ago reading that Elton John’s parents (Mom, esp.) were devout Christians and troubled that their son was gay. The Bible warns about the severity of sexual sin effects on distorting one’s soul.

Well, as far as I remember, the only people Jesus ever kisses in the Bible are men. And the never married thing is a bit odd for the time period and culture.

If you study the time period you will come to the exact same conclusion, whether thats good or bad remains to be seen. if you study anything you can come to all sorts of conclusions.
Thankfully the Church has had it's story straight from the start.
Pax.

Oh boy. Here he goes again. Last year he was claiming that Christianity was so evil that it should be outlawed. But I guess the queen doesn’t have to be consistent in her dotage.
To: awake-n-angry
In Middle Eastern culture a man doesn’t touch a woman, much less kiss her.
What’s your point?

Jesus was almost certainly married, as all men of adult age were expected to be, especially rabbis. Not among the Essenes. Judaism wasn't monolithic at the time. There were many different sects with different beliefs and ways of life.

Well Elton, you may think he was gay, and you may say he was gay, but you are wrong.
God condemned homosexuality under the law of the Patriarchs, under the law of Moses and under the law of Christ.
And He will condemn you at the Judgement Day unless you repent. That is not MY judgement. That is what God said.
