Hey guys, I’m here in Austin, and have more information, not sure if this has been posted yet. I was listening to the local radio show and they said that they got a call at the top of the 11am hour from a woman who said she thought it was her sister’s husband. Apparently, he had burned down their house that morning in North Austin and owned a plane just like the one that flew into the building. His car was left at the Round Rock airstrip where the plane was kept and the plane was missing. Over the next hour details came in confirming a house fire in North Austin, and the FAA confirmed the plane departed from Georgetown (ie. Round Rock airstrip). Some recent info has said that this man was apparently disgruntled at the IRS which has an office in the building that was hit. Sounds like a suicide attack. Will keep ya posted.
We have his suicide note.
Wow. I have family living in Round Rock, TX. Fortunately my parents are in Idaho at this time.
Now, Round Rock used to have an airstrip. It was originally called "Tim's Airpark" and later "Executive." Michael Dell bought it and turned it into his main business campus, forcing private owners to move their planes to various other strips, such as Georgetown, or Austin Bergstrom (with its utterly usurious tiedown and hangar fees).
