Better explanation is per #1,093: long delay between setting/initiating fire (possibly with fuse/timer) vs. fire being reported. Conflagrations don’t happen instantly.

I’ve heard some reports from witnesses that they heard an explosion at his house and windows blown out when it caught fire. Is it possible he set something to go off while he was gone?
This dude is a serious coder. Probably a serious pyro, too.
If he was flying the plane, he could have remote-blasted his house while flying right over it, for the satisfaction of seeing it gone, too.
