The Republican Party of Arkansas presented keynote Speaker Sarah Palin with an engraved Henry Repeating Arms Big Boy 44 Magnum rifle last night at their fundraising event at the Verizon Arena in Little Rock. The rifle was personalized with serial number PALIN-001, the brass receiver was inscribed with Presented to Sarah Palin - February 16, 2010 -Republican Party of Arkansas and the Republican Party of Arkansas logo was carved into the buttstock.
Palin began her keynote speech in front of a cheering crowd of 5,000 by thanking the Republican Party of Arkansas for the beautiful rifle, noting that she even called her son Track to tell him about it, and stated, Its great to be in a state where its okay to cling to your guns and religion.
President Lincoln was presented with a Henry rifle during his presidency. It hangs in The Smithsonian and has become a priceless national treasure.

Morons like George Will and abinowitz and David Brooks can go to hell. I’m voting Sarah, she’s the only real one out there.
Go Sarah, go! The woman gets a rifle and is so excited about it she calls her son. I wish she was in the WH now. With Dick Cheney. Only maybe Dick could NOT go hunting with our Sarah. ;)
I’ve always wanted a Henry.
Don’t know what I’d do with it, tho.
Yet another really cool thing about Our Sarah.
Wonder if she’ll be doing some hunting when she returns to Alaska??
I think that one’s going to get a really, really nice display case.
Arkansas has a really active Republican Party. Here in WI we can’t even get anyone to run against Feingold except a millionaire who hasn’t paid taxes for 10 years and a guy who refuses to raise money for the race.
I’m looking forward to ‘12 when I can refer to her as Madame President!
great quip by Sarah! Wit is a sign of intelligence and it’s pretty obvious obama lacks both.
And since she’s ‘private citizen Sarah’, she can keep it for herself, and not have to file any stupid reports or anything!!
My dear ReneeLynn, firearms were constructed with the sole intention of sending a metal projectile over a long distance.
The ONLY reason that a firearm should be encased under glass is when 1.) it is too old, too weak-of-frame or of an obsolete caliber or 2.) when the Gun is a one-of-a-kind, extremly-rare and a financial asset.
PING
I would submit that this gun falls under category 2 on your list. :)
Henry rifles are definitely keepsakes. I have a Marlin .44 rifle and wish I would have ponied up the extra dollars to get a Hanry. .44 rifles are good for putting big holes in big targets. Also good for hunting whitetails in close.
Nothin like a rifle in the hands of a woman who knows how to use one.
