The winter of global warming
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 2/18/10 | Debra J. Saunders

The last few months have been cruel and wintry for global-warming true believers. The long storm began in November, when a leak of e-mails from Britain's University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit revealed that key global-warming scientists tried to stifle dissent, politicize peer-review, which led to revelations that the researchers had dumped much of the raw data used to bolster the alarmist argument.

Then came the news that that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 2007 report - you know, the one that reported that man-made global warming was "unequivocal" - wrongly predicted that it was likely Himalayan glaciers would disappear by 2035, based not on peer-reviewed research, but on an article in a popular magazine. Oh, and it turns out that the IPCC was wrong in reporting that 55 percent of The Netherlands is below sea level.

Last week, Phil Jones, the unit's director at the time of the e-mail leak, answered tough questions posed by the BBC in an interview, during which he admitted that there has been no statistically significant warming of the planet since 1995. Jones also rejected Al Gore's mantra when he said he did not believe that "the vast majority of climate scientists think" the debate over climate change is over.

Like the Wicked Witch of Oz, the global-warming machine is melting into a wretched puddle.

“But their egos got in the way.”

Wrong! Their greed and lust for control of the serfs did...

These are sweet days for all of us who have had to endure criticism for saying, “I don’t believe in global warming.”. Ha!

To mess with George Peppard’s A-Team line, “I love it when a plan falls apart.”.

Al Gore should have made a statement by now, don’t you think? Come on Big Al, tell us how wrong we are!

AGW is officially OVER! Be sure to belittle and mock those who did the same when we called them on their BS years ago. They deserve our contempt for all the damage wrought by their wrongheaded religion of AGW.

To move on we should all agree conservation is a good thing so long as it does not damage our economic growth and well being.

I guess Al Gore is happy he bought that ocean front condo in San Francisco about three years now that it won’t be submerged by the ocean now. Whew! Bully for him! Wonder how he knew it wouldn’t be sucked up by the rising seas?

I'll start celebrating when the culpable are sued for every penny they've got for perpetrating this hoax. Prison time would be nice, too. Take that biatch at the Weather Channel that called for the heads of weathermen and meteorologists that didn't buy into this hoax--she should be drummed out of the business. Make an example out of all of them for those that would consider a venture like this in the future.

Somebody should find out if the "fat lady" who sang for Algore outside his house in 2000 is available for a new gig.

She might need to use amplification this time, I expect, since Algore obviously doesn't hear any too good.

Although leftists ARE breathtakingly egotistical—witness the occupant of the Whitey House—it was the quest for power, wealth and the implementation of a global Marxist state that drove these thugs. Arrogance was just a standard part of the left wing physique.

The IPCC report did win a Nobel Prize. Columnist Tom Friedman suggested that calling "global warming" by a different name, "global weirding" would change the debate. Friedman apparently believes that people who don't agree with him are so stupid that a new name will distract them from any ideas or facts on an issue.

Recent winners of Nobel Prizes:

Barrack Obama Nobel Peace Prize

Al Gore and the now discredited IPCC Nobel Peace Prize

INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY and MOHAMED ELBARADEI for their efforts to prevent nuclear energy from being used for military purposes and to ensure that nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is used in the safest possible way. He did good did he not? Think Iran, North Korea, Syria etc.

JIMMY CARTER JR., former President of the United States of America, for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development. The mess in the Mid East goes back to Carters Days

The prize was awarded to: UNITED NATIONS, New York, NY, USA KOFI ANNAN, United Nations Secretary General Who left the UN in disgrace due to influence peddling for his son and personal gain for both.

KIM DAE JUNG for his work for democracy and human rights in South Korea and in East Asia in general, and for peace and reconciliation with North Korea in particular. That was just shortly before North Korea tested nukes.

YASSER ARAFAT , Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PLO, President of the Palestinian National Authority. He was a committed terrorist, until he died.

RIGOBERTA MENCHU TUM, Guatemala. Campaigner for human rights, especially for indigenous peoples. He writings were faked and not based on her real life experiences.

If you look at the winners over the last 40 years most of them were deserving of the award. However, in the last 20 years more and more of the awards were based on a political correctness if not out right corruption of the process of selection.

It was their socialist bent. They not only wanted to control the serfs, they wanted control over all corporations. With something as all encompassing as the ‘environment’, they thought they could do that, ruining corporations in the process. That would thrill their little Marxist selves.
