A bomb attack in a crowded market selling hashish in north-western Pakistan has killed at least 10 people and injured up to 100, officials say.
The market had been set up close to a militant recruitment centre, a witness to the bombing told the BBC. The blast occurred in the Khyber tribal region, close to the Afghan border, in an area where the Taliban is known to have a strong presence.
Over the past year north-west Pakistan has been hit by numerous attacks. The army recently finished an offensive in the area against the Taliban.
The bomb had exploded in a weekly hashish market set up in the grounds of a compound used by the pro-Taliban Lashkar-e-Islam group for recruiting militants, and near a mosque, witnesses said.
Initial reports suggested it had been a cattle market. Hashish is a form of the drug cannabis. The BBC's Syed Shoaib Hasan says reports from the area suggest a senior member of Lashkar-e-Islam, one of the biggest militant organisations in the Khyber, was killed in the blast.
Hundreds of people have died in clashes between Lashkar-e-Islam and another armed Islamic group, Ansarul Islam, both of which are banned by the government, in the region in the past few years. Locals say government helicopters have recently helped Ansarul Islam - now re-named the Peace Committee - during clashes with Lashkar-e-Islam.

Er...Good?
Like man I’ve heard of being blasted on drugs but this is ridiculous.
Sounds like a feud between two terror groups. Good

This article says the blast took place "A suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque and a base used by militants"
A mosque used as a terrorist base ? Who would have thunk it?
Our allied forces should have followed up with more bombs there.
Asked about the extent of damages a first resonder is quoted as saying, “Wow man, far out.”
well.. too much hash intake tends to create poor judgement...
