U.S. officials late Wednesday confirmed the capture of another top Taliban leader in Pakistan, Fox News reported.
"The capture of an Afghan Taliban 'shadow governor' is positive, good news," an official told Fox News.
"This does not solve all of the problems, but going after the Afghan Taliban leadership has been important. Whenever the Pakistanis arrest somebody, that is a plus."
News of the arrest was reported earlier by Newsweek, which cited Taliban sources and counter-terrorism officials in Washington who named the detained man as Mullah Abdul Salam.

Something is odd about these guys being taken alive.
Totalitarian logic is the same everywhere - the top brass are too important to die for the cause. Going down fighting for Allah is for the little people, doncha know.
Yeah, I considered that, but this looks like deal making. Surrendering to Pakistani Intelligence isn't the same as surrendering to the U.S. They waterboard their prisoners on muslim holidays as a break from real torture.

They’re being taken by Pakistani forces, not by ours.
When captured, probably the first thing out of their mouths was, “Hey! I paid you guys off just last week!”
