Agreed, I did not hear even one round snapping overhead or nearby. I'm thinking this was a live fire training exercise. The guy with the metal detector was walking way to fast if real IED's were a possibility.
That Brit-Vid was little more than bait for that website...they are running a funding drive and needed some video to draw hits. Roggio/SWJ is OK....mostly seems to me to be a sobered up Debka File...I rarely pay much attention to SWJ.
That wasn’t an attack on a fortified position. That was a patrol to draw fire and fix enemy positions. They were using lead for cover. It was textbook!
There is no way they would launch a Javelin on a live-fire exercise.
Incoming fire? Staying upright with incoming fire? Staying upright, and taking time to extend bipod legs with incoming fire?
Camera angle down toward a soldier returning fire in an open field?
No incoming snaps, no hits, no profanity?Hmmm . . .
I'm not saying it wasn't real exchange of gunfire, but . . .
One advantage we have is the Taliban’s apparent ignorance of gun sights. I’ve watched a number of videos of the enemy in action shot both by their people and ours. I’ve never seen one of them using his AK’s sight. Even when firing mortars they don’t seem to use a sight.
Most AQ/Taliban scumbags subscribe to the the "inshallah" ("if Allah wills it, it will happen") school of marksmanship. That, and a lot of the foreign fighters are completely hopped up on speed in their preparation for meeting US forces in battle.
The only downside to this is that Darwin comes into play and we eventually have to deal with the smarter ones.

would like to have a follow-up... the Brits are well lead and equiped... also a dead body of an enemy or two would confirm their mission... or are the roe preventing a photo opt of foot on dead enemy’s chest... just wondering...
