NAPLES The Bush brothers packed the house at the Naples Grande Beach Resort.
Former President George W. Bush and his brother Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, spoke Tuesday night as part of the Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speakers Series. They talked issues _ everything from health care and the Iraq war to budget deficits and Social Security reform.
George W. Bush, the 43rd U.S. president, has stayed out of the spotlight, limiting his face-time in public since leaving the White House about a year ago.
He and his brother the states 43rd governor addressed a crowd of more than 1,000 who purchased tickets to see them. Tickets to hear the duo speak started at $200.
The brothers had the crowd laughing, clapping and sighing with heart-felt emotions as they showed their more personal side. A few times, George W. Bush fought tears as he talked about the support of his wife in the Oval Office and how his decisions to send more troops to Iraq hurt families in the U.S. who lost their sons, daughters, husbands and wives to the war.

(And I was right).
And it is "easily understood by the average person," because I wasn't kidding when I said if it was easy enough for ME to understand it, anyone could.
He's got some health care abbreviations in it that would have to be explained (he speaks in acronyms!).
I'm kind of getting excited about this project. I know he's been thanked much in the community, but if can go farther and get a broader audience, that would be great.
“No need, centrist. You’ve been stalking me. I knew you’d read it.”
Actually, lady, I read it just this morning over breakfast.
Cursory search, but the gist is clear.
I’m certainly no “centrist”. If I was, Bush’s Administration wouldn’t have bothered me, although I’d have viewed him as a little to the left.
YOU're the one who keeps calling me a liberal. I don't think YOU are (just an often thoughtless zealot who doesn't always get it).
If you didn't get the joke about voting for Obama, you are REALLY on edge.
Chill, son. We're on the same side.
I favor “right.”
NOW......until you demostrate some level of integrity yourself (you are woefully lacking in that area, as exhibited on this very thread), then it is clear that you lack the moral judgement on which to accuse another.
Sarah Palin IS a woman of integrity, proven by years of a life well and honorably lived. You have no such record.
“I favor right.””
In target shooting, the coach tells you to “favor left” or “favor right” meaning hold the front sight to the left or right a little bit. Sometimes you can catch a little wind correction that way - a little gust or something - without adjusting your sight. In rapid fire, you don’t have time to adjust your windage, so you hold on the target a little differently after you’ve scoped your first two shots.
When you tell someone to “favor center”, it’s a wish they hit the X. Kind’a like telling an actor to “break a leg”. It means “shoot straight”.
Followed by her willful and deliberate acquiescence to and support of the traitor McCain!
I do not discuss off topic issues especially with newbies who are ignorant of posting etiquette on this site.........
I favor right.

Like I said, if you want to discuss the ORIGINAL POST, do so. Otherwise, you are just being a busybody. If you don’t like threads, don’t click on threads.
“I favor right.”
Behind a rifle? (Which was my point and the origin of my name here).
You appear to sometimes favor “right” politically, but other times you favor “left” depending on the party wind changes. So, basically, you’re peppering the political target frame. That makes you a centrist, statistically.
One bad decision (or reasonable depending on one's POV), or mistake does not change the basic integrity of the individual.
Dick Cheney is a man of integrity, yet he came out in favor of removing DADT, and I was horrified. But again, that means that he has an opinion that I strongly disagree with, but it doesn't mean I can say he no longer has any character.
I know that I'm talking to a brick wall of youthful arrogance (and sometimes dishonesty) here, but hopefully some day you'll start to understand that the entire world, if it doesn't agree with every detail of your very narrow viewpoint, is bad.
Silly me.
Some day you may begin to understand these things.
Or not.
(Even though you live in a state that voted for McCain and therefore are more conservative than I am. chuckle.)
Did the press find out how much George W. was paid for this appearance? If not, why not? They seem to obsess over every little penny paid to Sarah Palin. Oh, and people paid $200 to attend one Bush speech vs. $500 for an entire three-day convention. Isn’t that excessive? Isn’t that money-grubbing? Where’s the criticism?
Oh yeah, nobody cares about the speaking fees unless it’s a former governor of Alaska.
Hey, if Mr. Ohio puts the powerpoint on here, please let it be someway other than powerpoint. Video? I simply cannot get powerpoint to work on my computer. Good on him for putting the thing together. He may have to revise it though. According to the news, obambi is releasing his revised version of the bill on Monday and it’s only 1,000 pages.
Use a slideshow video. Video slideshow? LOL
We paleo-cons still use it to describe feudal lord RINOS ;-);
And you keep “needling” on a dead issue. Knock it off. There are too many important things going to to keep an argument going that should have been buried three days ago. Some things are held on matter of principle and a combative approach only digs a deeper entrenchment. Read a couple of books written about G.W.B. and learn that he is indeed a very committed Christian. For some of us that goes a long way. Nobody is perfect except One. OFW will never let go of her loyalty to her friends, and she considers G.W.B. as one of her friends. Why does it matter if you disagree with her opinion or her loyalty?
