* To change things, we must change the laws. * To change the laws, we must change the people who make them. * To get elected, your candidate must be on the ballot. * To get on the November ballot you must win the Primary. * To win the Primary, you must get the support of people who make endorsements in the Primary, who reliably vote in the Primary, and who get out the vote of others in the Primary. Those people are the Precinct Committeemen.

Therefore, Precinct Committeeman is the most powerful office in the world because Precinct Committeemen determine who gets the chance to be elected to office at every level of government. Remember, if your candidate is not on the ballot, he will not be elected.

It hardly needs to be said that there are a lot of pricincts, and therefore a lot of offices, and therefore no one office is all that important, and therefore it is most definitely not the most powerful office in the world.

Reminds me of the comment from Jimmy Carter’s mother after he lost his re-election bid. She said he should come back to Georgia and run for Sherrif because that’s where the real power was.

The republican party cannot another presidential candidate chosen FOR it by dems and independants and liberal media. If that means getting rid of primaries and going back to smoke-filled rooms, so be it.

Further, in an ideal world, we need a candidate who is NOT a member of the CFR. Dems view us as the enemy; we cannot afford another pubbie president who views them as the other branch of the family.

I am doing this. We have too many Rino's in our local Republican party, so I am signing up for a precinct chairman. In the precinct I live in there is already a conservative, so I have the option of choosing a precinct right next door, so still my neighbors.

I just have to get less than 10 neighbors to vote for me and then I am one of a growing number of conservative precinct chairmen in our county Republican party that have the power to choose the next candidate to run for many offices. Local, state and influence federal.

We are doing this on the down low via email to try to get a majority of conservatives on the County Republican party board, the tea parties brought us together and a growing "Americans for Prosperity" chapter with twice a month meetings.
