Is it just me or has racial tensions significantly escalated since Obama has been elected?
Seems like it to me. I suppose I can go on and on about the possible reasons why, who’s to blame, both sides at fault, etc etc, and maybe my observation is just plain wrong. But dammit he’s the boss, he’s ultimately responsible and should have the standing and the effort to try and improve things. But like all other aspects of his presidency he is either simply asleep at the wheel, or so maddeningly off course.
Rather than standing up and making strides towards racial harmony, he’s like a stick poking all the wrong embers, watching and twisting as the country burns.
Man what a sad state of affairs.

I believe your observation is correct.

I personally saw alot more racial tension in the 1980s, and my parents can tell you horror stories of what used to happen in the 1960s and 1970s, particularly as a certain group moved into to previously safe neighborhoods/schools.

The good think is, now that certain group of people have to face folks from the other part of our hemisphere who won't take their sh-t. Viva los Vaqueros!
