Climate scientists are losing ground against deniers' disinformation (Hussein tactics needed)

Climate scientists are losing ground against deniers' disinformation
The IPCC and scientific community urgently need to focus on rebuilding trust and could learn a few tactics from Barack Obama
Joss Garman
guardian.co.uk, Monday 15 February 2010 11.54 GMT

There's an incredibly powerful movement opposed to action on climate change. Without doubt it had more influence on the outcome of the climate negotiations in Copenhagen than many of the world's countries combined. Obama knew if he signed up to something that would truly deliver significant cuts in global warming pollution, he'd suffer a serious blow from this movement's army of activists and its allies in the Senate. This movement's ability to make Democrats pay a serious political price – just see what they helped to do in Massachusetts where the Democrat candidate lost a recent election – shows what raw activism can look like. The name of this world-changing movement? It's the Tea Party movement, coupled with its sophisticated echo chamber of right-wing shock jocks, culture-war keyboard commandos, and allies at Fox News, all pushing the scepticism line on climate change.

Over the last few years as climate campaigners such as myself have tried to mount a good rational argument, theirs has mounted a powerful disinformation campaign. In the last few weeks we have witnessed that effective campaign gain momentum and turn into a sort of global asymmetrical warfare, with criticism of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for its claims about the speed with which Himalayan glaciers are melting, personal attacks against its chairman Rajendra Pachauri and a persistent hounding of climate scientists and those reviewing the scientists.

There's a LOGO? Kewl!

Climate deniers such as those at the Tea Party in Nashville, Tennessee, have more influence on the debate than many countries represented at Copenhagen.

With the primary theorist of the AGW ideology essentially admitting that it is a little bit fraudulent the propagandists are still in full cry.

Learn from the Obamaloons?
Learn from the Obamaloons?

They could learn lying, incompetence, total lack of talent, no business abilities....etc. etc. etc.

Sorta like the Guardian staff.

I love how they automatically label people who don't believe that humans cause climate change as climate deniers.

The best argument I had against a AGW proponent went something like this:

Explain to me what, exacly, the temperature on earth should be.

There's an incredibly powerful movement opposed to action on climate change.

It is the incredibly powerful movement of "the truth". As opposed to "the big lie".

Talk about denial!!!!! Wow! “Climate Change” really is an ideology meant to control people. Now people are saying Wait just a damn minute! Stop trying to control my life!

I saw a new diversion of a CC supporter in our local paper this weekend. More moisture in the air - aka snow in the Mid Atlantic and southern states - is a direct result of more warming.

Titled “The sky really is falling” the subhead says “A warming world increases atmospheric moisture, which leads to massive snowstorms.” Baltimore SUN 2/14/10

Then I heard the author of this being interviewed on a local radio show, and he sounded as devoted to his beliefs as anyone wearing a Roman collar would sound when discussing their religious beliefs.

SAD!

“Climate scientists are losing ground against deniers’ disinformation”

Now that’s an unbiased headline.

How about releasing the raw temperature data from every measurement site and satellite (no cherry picking - every single one), all of the research on historical atmospheric gas composition and tree ring thicknesses and all the programs used to analyze it. These can then be looked at by other scientists and interested amateurs. If real, then you will have millions of people able to see it. Instead we are told to “trust the scientists”, even those with huge vested financial interests, that the earth is warming, but never allowed to look at the data.

They need to regroup and totally dump the “climate change” meme. It’s as poisoned as the “global warming” tact became when blizzards started seemingly dogging Al Gore’s every speaking engagement. Go back to the former movement that focused on conservation, prudent recycling, and development of multiple energy sources. Back in the 70s there were some who went overboard with it, but generally everyone agreed that conservation and recycling was a good thing.

We should reclaim the conservation movement, look at the ideals of Teddy Roosevelt and the sentiment behind the foundation of the national park system.

from what I understand most of the British public has also turned against the scam (despite having a much more liberal media, much of it government-controlled as in the BBC)

Sorry, I find no satire in it. The author has clearly drunk the global warming kool-aid and consistently employs loaded terminology to bolster the global warming fraud, even where it’s indefensible.

Any good “sceptic” could blow him out of the water in 30 seconds or less, but then pantywaist shills of this ilk work hard not to face any real challengers.

True the headline is biased but what do you expect from a far left rag!

What is surprising is that even the Guardian is on the story and from what I can gather the MSM in the states is deaf, dumb and blind.

I took care of this with my moonbat sister-in-law: It takes cold air to cause the moisture to fall as precipitation.

The recycling scam is almost as big as the global warming scam. It was discredited long ago, even the the major media, by John Stossel for example.
