Maria Pinto Closes Chicago Boutique. What's Michelle Obama to Wear?

Even designing dresses that turned
Michelle Obama into a fashion trendsetter couldn't keep
Maria Pinto in business.
The designer has
closed the doors to her Chicago boutique, reports the Chicago Sun-Times, and she is expected to seek bankruptcy protection this week.
Pinto tells the Sun-Times "economic challenges and soft buying trends at the top end of the apparel market" contributed to her business woes.
''I am confident that the 'Maria Pinto' name will not go away, but will merely take a break, before emerging in a new form," she tells the newspaper.
"I plan on using the next several months to explore different avenues and opportunities for business, as economic conditions improve."
In addition to dressing
Obama (see the purple sleeveless sheath dress she wore for the final primaries?), Pinto's customers also included
Oprah Winfrey and several Chicago socialites and civic leaders.
Pinto studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and New York's
Parsons School of Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, and worked for
Geoffrey Beene in her first fashion job. In 1991, she launched her own line, which was carried in stores including
Bergdorf Goodman, then she opened her Chicago boutique in 2008, according to the paper.
And, if there's any debate on
Michelle Obama's style power, here's a look at
her first 100 days of fashion.

“At a posthumous Medal of Honor award ceremony.”
For an event like that that dress is so inappropriate. In fact, it's blatantly disrespectful. Are those shoes green? Is she colorblind? (Jim's wife)

Sleeveless floral print mini at the MOH ceremony: This dress is pretty, and looks kind of nice on her — BUT — it’s not the thing for a funeral/memorial service.
Or, as I would tell my kids, “Who raised you?”

Okay several things stuck out to me in this article. First, you mean to tell me that of all the businesses this "president" is going to let fail---he'd even allow an avowed supporter/sycophant to go under the bus???If you can't stay in business and you're in the inner circle, then we're all scwrd royally!!!
Second came this quote "''I am confident that the 'Maria Pinto' name will not go away, but will merely take a break, before emerging in a new form," she tells the newspaper"
I never heard of the name......now arguably as a guy I'm not supposed to know her, but my wife who is into high-end women designs want's to know who the h3!! am I talking about when I mentioned this article.
And lastly, what happened to the last design we know of that carried the name pinto----didn't that make and model go out around 1977-78?

Hey com’on - even WalMart wouldn’t carry the shit this “lady” wears....I get so sick of hearing what a fashionista Manchelle is - there is absolutely nothing fashionable about this “woman” (and I use that term loosely).....

Michelle Obama wearing Maria Pinto dresses. The writing was on the wall, er, the signs. Look at all those people holding up signs [telling her to change]!

Sorry Ms. Pinto, but Hope and Change demands that rich folk be demonized and put more skin in the game. No more money for expensive clothes.

I doubt that she's colorblind, (certainly not in a political sense, anyway) but her hatred of America and American traditions is such a seething cauldron of bile that she probably didn't even consider the notion of it being disrespectful.....what's there to respect at such an event, anyway? Probably 'just another honky who oppressed People Of Color' in her perspective.
I'm sure that she just viewed the event as another opportunity to be seen by her adoring Press.

It is photoshopped. The shoes and socks belong to the guy in the white apron, that is the reason his feet have been cut out of the picture.
