The neurobiologist accused of killing three colleagues at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, on Friday was also a suspect in a 1993 mail bombing plot against a Harvard Medical School professor, the Boston Globe quoted law enforcement official as saying Sunday.
Amy Bishop was questioned along with her husband, James Anderson, after two 6-inch pipe bombs were sent to the Newton, Mass., home of Dr. Paul Rosenberg. While opening the package, the doctor saw the wires and a cylinder and fled the house.
The Globe said investigators searched Dr. Bishops and Mr. Andersons home, but the United States Attorneys office did not seek any charges against them, and no one was ever charged in the case.
Early Saturday, the police in Huntsville charged the neurobiologist Dr. Bishop, 45, with capital murder in the shootings Friday that also left three people wounded during a faculty meeting. Dr. Bishop, who appeared to have had a promising future in the biotechnology business, had recently been told she would not be granted tenure, university officials said.
The revelation about the 1993 plot came after word that Dr. Bishop was linked to another death. On Saturday afternoon, the police in Braintree, Mass., announced that 24 years ago, Dr. Bishop had fatally wounded her brother, Seth Bishop, in an argument at their home, which The Boston Globe first reported on its Web site. The police were considering reopening the case, in which Dr. Bishop was not charged and the report by the officer on duty at the time was no longer available, said Paul Frazier, the Braintree police chief.

The little lady seems to have quite a history. Can’t wait to see the movie.
The leftist media will try to pin this on the Catholic
Church since her last name is “Bishop”.
Given the circumstances of the death of her brother, and this — sounds like tip of the iceberg so far. She’s a rare type of serial killer I suspect.
Curiouser and curiouser!
My word! I wonder why the University of Alabama in Huntsville didn’t do a background check?
Very interesting!
What’s with this constant “Dr. Bishop” referencing? It should be just once and then “Bishop” there on out. Once again it seems the NYT is trying to spin for a violent leftist defendant.
She has four children to add to this mix
Isn’t this Bush’s fault?
Bill Ayers and wife Bernadine Dohrn would be so proud of their murderous-minded colleague psycho beech.

Explains why she was a suspect and some of the evidence against her.
I’m going to guess she pulled out the oppressed female card quite a bit over the years. Just a guess.
bingo
‘Shes a rare type of serial killer I suspect.’
YES, one who keeps getting a free pass from the LEOS.
Didn’t Harvard admit some girl who had murdered he mother a few years ago? Where is that gal today?
Background checks only to be sure you aren’t a pro lifer.
“... in a search of Bishop’s computer, authorities found a draft of a novel that Bishop was writing about a female scientist who had killed her brother and was hoping to make amends by becoming a great scientist, according to a person who was briefed on the investigation and spoke to the Globe on the condition of anonymity”
...but of course they will make her out as some right wing conservative.
She should never be able to breed again. BTW, you would want to poke that ugly beeatch?
From the article at your link “Bishop surfaced as a suspect because she was allegedly concerned that she was going to receive a negative evaluation from Rosenberg on her doctorate work”
Her husband must be a piece of work also, I read earlier today that they were dating at the time she killed her brother.
