Gun Rights Advocates Target California Detective Following Facebook Posts

Gun rights advocates have a California police detective in their crosshairs after he apparently posted comments on Facebook advocating that "open carry" supporters should be shot.

East Palo Alto Police Det. Rod Tuason apparently posted the remarks on his Facebook page in response to a friend's status update, which suggested that gun advocates who carry unloaded weapons openly — which is legal in California — should do so in places like "Oakland, Richmond and East Palo Alto" and not just in "hoity toity" cities.

"Haha we had one guy last week try to do it!" Tuason replied. "He got proned out [laid face-down on the ground] and reminded where he was at and that turds will jack him for his gun in a heartbeat!"

Several comments later, the detective suggested shooting the gun rights advocates, some of whom have carried firearms openly in recent weeks in California's Bay Area, particularly at Starbucks locations.

"(paraphrase -- what good is carrying an uloaded gun...."

It's about as effective as those fake knives we had as kids, made of rubber and the fake blade retracts into the handle when you stabbed something. Only in America.

"What everybody needs to take from this story is that this cop is the real face of much of the law enforcement community. Not all but a significant group of them are a bunch of neo-Nazi goose stepping trash."

I'm not sure about that, but one thing I am certain of, the cops want to be the only ones out there "protecting" people, they don't like competition at all, from anyone, even from victims, or potential victims, trying to defend themselves.

Two can play that game. Not the time for a stupid cop to be even a cop.

But are you allowed to carry a magazine in your pocket? Would take much time to draw and slap it in...

A California friend of mine says yes and speed loaders are okay as well.

my point is that he admitted to doing this to someone...and if he knowingly did this, there should be some kind of info trail, at least dispatch comm, that should be secured for his federal prosecution for that act...

then add in the basic threats from the postings for more charges, and raid everything hes got and charge those things as well...

its what theyd do to us afterall...

Those guys carry clips in a separate “quick draw” holster on their belt. I saw a video showing a guy draw gun and clip, load the clip, rack the slide, all in just over 2 seconds. Practice, practice, practice and you’ve got a fighting chance.

What’s needed is to change the stupid California laws to allow loaded open carry like in most states. Way too many county sheriffs won’t issue concealed carry permits, so open carry is the only option to those who decide to not be victims. The permit process should be changed also.

the cop gets in trouble for expressing what most of them think. they no longer work for the citizens. it’s an us against them attitude and the notion that they exist to control us. all the more reason citizens need to be armed. tyrants out of control

A lot of cops consider the Constitution to be an obstacle to their happiness.

Sensible Gun Registration Plan That Will Work

Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Vermont ‘s own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register “non-gun-owners” and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun.

Maslack read the “militia” phrase of the Second Amendment as not only affirming the right of the individual citizen to bear arms, but as a clear mandate to do so. He believes that universal gun ownership was advocated by the Framers of the Constitution as an antidote to a “monopoly of force” by the government as well as criminals. Vermont ‘s constitution states explicitly that “the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the State” and those persons who are “conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms” shall be required to “pay such equivalent.” Clearly, says Maslack, Vermonters have a constitutional obligation to arm themselves, so that they are capable of responding to “any situation that may arise.”

Under the bill, adults who choose not to own a firearm would be required to register their name, address, Social Security Number, and driver’s license number with the state. “There is a legitimate government interest in knowing who is not prepared to defend the state should they be asked to do so,” Maslack says Vermont already boasts a high rate of gun ownership along with the least restrictive laws of any state .. it’s currently the only state that allows acitizen to carry a concealed firearm without a permit. This combination of plenty of guns and few laws regulating them has resulted in a crime rate that is the third lowest in the nation.

“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.”

This makes sense! There is no reason why gun owners should have to pay taxes to support police protection for people not wanting to own guns. Let them contribute their fair share and pay their own way.
America
Home of the free,
BECAUSE of the Brave.

What everybody needs to take from this story is that this cop is the real face of much of the law enforcement community. Not all but a significant group of them are a bunch of neo-Nazi goose stepping trash. They are not here to serve and protect. They are here to enforce and intimidate. They are here to make dam sure you working class white people shut up, sit down, do as you are told and keep the taxes coming.

I have a lot of family who are cops. And you are right. Cops are not your friends, and are not there to help you (for most things).
