Brown for President in 2012? No Joke, Supporters Say
Fox News ^ | Feb 13, 2010 | FoxNews

He's only been a senator for a week but the drumbeat already has begun for Scott Brown to run for president in 2012.

After the Massachusetts Republican captured the seat previously held by Ted Kennedy in an upset election last month, ending the Democrats supermajority in the Senate, Brown's supporters have launched a Facebook page devoted to discussing a potential presidential bid.

They've also scooped up several "Scott Brown for President" domain names, including scottbrown2012.com, scottbrown2016.com and scottbrownforpresident.com -- a site that offers "Scott Brown for President" bumper stickers.

And a new Gallup poll ranks Brown fourth among 11 potential GOP presidential contenders who voters would like to see as the nominee.

Considering Obama served just under six years in the Senate, what's not to like?

Oh really? I recall a guy named John F. Kennedy served eight years in the Senate and then was elected President. Guess what state he came from.

This is nonsensical. Scott Brown could, in no way, beat Obama in a national election. There is no differentiation between Brown and Obama. There is no way a pro-choice candidate will be supported by Republican voters. None.

Brown voted for Massachusetts health care and is for national health care. How exactly is he going to run against Obama on that? Is he going to say, “We just have to do it smarter.” This is Democrat lite. This is what McCain did. This is what Dole did.

What is needed to run against Obama is the Anti-Obama candidate or there is no differentiation. And we know who the name of the anti-Obama candidate is: Sarah Palin.

Scott Brown PROVED he can win in a bluest of blue state. He won in MA, he can win in all 50 states, handing the Dems a devastating defeat.

That's just silly. Do you think it was his unwaivering commitment to conservatism that got him a win in Mass?

He's already said he will work with dems. Let's let him vote a few times and see what he means by that before we decide he's the second coming, okay?

I don’t think we need another President who hasn’t even filled out a full term in the elected position. Let the guy get experience

Agree; and like many here; saw that handwriting on the wall per his 'star quality' and what that invites. Brown needs to focus on 'job' and not begin his Senate career in campaign mode. No 'fast tracks' here; or at least, 'not so fast'. think 'star power' should scare all of us; just a bit.

Why is it every new face that comes along is tagged to become president?

Little-known Jimmy Carter achieved immense power through ignorance of the Electorate—as did Barack Obama. The difference is that it's "our side" that may need the same strategy to prevail in 2012.

Duncan Hunter is a strong Constitutionalist, passed the bill for the southern border fence, retired Navy, son in the service too...

Carter ran after the vice president resigned, the President resigned, the Church commission had wiped out the CIA, the Vietnam war, the draft, the Ford appointment.

Carter was seen as a devout Christian and a military man.

He was running as a social conservative against a man that wasn’t, in fact a North Eastern moderate, pro abortion, Republican like Scott Brown.

I don’t see how all this fits into your strategy for you Gerald Ford candidate from the Massachusetts Senate, that isn’t even a sitting President and is barely even a Senator.

Wouldn’t a more realistic, conservative, Republican that can carry the South, do better?

Nope. I like him right where he is. He’s perfect as the Republican senator from Massachusetts but he’s too liberal for me to vote for as President.

We don’t need our own blow-dried fast-track-to-Washington version of Zero. Let him serve the citizens that elected him.

Duncan Hunter is ex Army (Ranger, LRRP), and retired, he never tried to be anything other than a local Congressman until it was time to leave office after 28 years, he then mounted a minor Presidential campaign to draw publicity and guarantee that his Marine Lawyer son defeated his 21 year, Navy SEAL opponent.

It may have cost his fans millions of dollars, but I am OK with it because I voted for Duncan Hunter as my Congressman, and then voted for his son against the Navy SEAL Democrat.

Sarah will do just fine..if we think the rats are beating on her for lack of experience, just imagine what they will do with the guy with a pickup truck.

We committed suicide last time we had the electorate on our side, lets not do it again.
