There's bipartisan agreement on at least one thing in Washington this week: There's a whole lot of snow outside. After two paralyzing storms swept through the District in quick succession, the area was blanketed in almost two and a half feet of snow.
Climate change skeptics quickly pointed to the winter storms as proof that Al Gore and climate researchers have their facts exactly backward. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), for example, twittered during the storm on Tuesday, "It's going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries 'uncle.'" And Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), on his Facebook page, posted photos of his family building a snow fort on the National Mall, the tag on top reading "Al Gore's New Home!"
But, in a press conference sponsored by the Center for American Progress on Thursday, Dr. Jeff Masters, director of meteorology for the online weather service Weather Underground, pointed out that snow in the winter -- even a lot of it -- doesn't mean that average temperatures aren't nevertheless on the rise.
"Individual weather is not climate," said Masters. "The point I've tried to make is we're in a warming trend. Last decade was the warmest on record, replacing the '90s, which replaced the 80's as the warmest decade." In fact, increasingly severe storms -- even winter ones like D.C.'s recent blizzards -- are consistent with climate change models, said Masters. "We still have winter, even if temperatures are rising," he said, noting that as average temperatures have risen, moisture levels in the atmosphere have also risen over 4 percent in the last 20 years, which has the potential to increase the severity of storms.

This is true of course as the Warmists are anxious to point out in every article they write about the recent cold wave and record snow fall across the country.
It is a fact that is conveniently forgotten when they want us to believe that Global Warming caused Katrina and that the quantity and severity of hurricanes was directly tied to the supposedly man-caused global warming. Ditto the left's reaction to any particular hot month or year.
Well what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I know that weather isn't climate but most dumbo libs don't. So we should continue to pour it on.
With all of the Hotair coming out of D.C. I might have to agree.D.C. seems to have its own micro-climate.The longer the political boobs stay out of there the temperatures should return to normal./Just Sarchasm.

Well there you have it. If it doesn’t snow, that is global warming. And if it does snow, then that is global warming.
Uh, "individual" weather? Does that mean the day's weather? The week's? The year's? The decade's?
Let me whisper something to you, Doc. Climate is weather. The only difference is the time span. If it isn't weather, then what is it?
And its not just the Mid-East US or South East US or South West US, North Dakota now reporting significant snow depth.

The current snow depth at the Bismarck Airport, which is the official reporting site for the National Weather Service in the city, is 20 inches. The last recorded 20-inch snow depth at Bismarck was in March 1979.
So if the planet has been warming, why did it wait until this year to snow heavily in unusual places?
And if Global Warming causes snow, why did the UK MET office predict a mild winter for the UK ? Face it people. They are lieing scumbags. Only explanation that fits the facts. That is why I gave up even debating them in my field of expertise. Came to that conclusion about 6 years ago.
I’ve been arguing with this eco-nut Leftist pagan retired woman who worships Mother Earth. She really thinks the record snowfall in Dallas was caused by AGW. She goes by the handle ‘patriotgirl65’. When Carter was in office, the snow was touted as proof of global cooling and the coming ice age.

This has NEVER stopped warmists from insisting that individual weather phenomena were "obviously" signs of Global Warming. Every hurricane, every mudslide, every dry spell, etc., is immediately followed by a press conference crediting it to Global Warming.
