There's bipartisan agreement on at least one thing in Washington this week: There's a whole lot of snow outside. After two paralyzing storms swept through the District in quick succession, the area was blanketed in almost two and a half feet of snow.
Climate change skeptics quickly pointed to the winter storms as proof that Al Gore and climate researchers have their facts exactly backward. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), for example, twittered during the storm on Tuesday, "It's going to keep snowing in DC until Al Gore cries 'uncle.'" And Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), on his Facebook page, posted photos of his family building a snow fort on the National Mall, the tag on top reading "Al Gore's New Home!"
But, in a press conference sponsored by the Center for American Progress on Thursday, Dr. Jeff Masters, director of meteorology for the online weather service Weather Underground, pointed out that snow in the winter -- even a lot of it -- doesn't mean that average temperatures aren't nevertheless on the rise.
"Individual weather is not climate," said Masters. "The point I've tried to make is we're in a warming trend. Last decade was the warmest on record, replacing the '90s, which replaced the 80's as the warmest decade." In fact, increasingly severe storms -- even winter ones like D.C.'s recent blizzards -- are consistent with climate change models, said Masters. "We still have winter, even if temperatures are rising," he said, noting that as average temperatures have risen, moisture levels in the atmosphere have also risen over 4 percent in the last 20 years, which has the potential to increase the severity of storms.

I have one statement.
For years the GW crazies have insisted that the proof of global warming is the lack of snow, rising temps, glaciers melting, etc.
So lack of snow and ice was the proof.
But now that we have lots snow and ice, colder temps running 10 to 20 degrees F below normal....that is proof of global warming?
Give me a break.
It snows in Washington, D.C. even in the heat of summer.

No point in listening to him any further. The facts are not in agreement with him. The temperatures have in fact been falling for the last decade. If he can’t get that right then he is not worth listening to.
As Rush documented on his show, we were told by the Alarmists that NO snow was the result of Global Warming.
So, which is it, no snow, or lots of snow?
Both I imagine, and so is a normal amount of snow.
So are cold temps, warm temps, and normal temps.
Our political enemies are stark raving mad, and they think we are too..
Well, apart from the fact that there has been a warming trend for over 200 years, given what we've learned lately about how temperature records are managed by the warmies, I don't think you can substantiate that claim, sir.
In fact I think the claim that the last decade was warmer than the one before it is an outright fabrication by politically motivated quasi-scientists; scientists that have engaged in blatant manipulation to make a claim that even CRU people acknowledge in private isn't true.

In fact, 2007's global temperature was essentially the same as that in 2006 - and 2005, and 2004, and every year back to 2001. The record set in 1998 has not been surpassed. For nearly a decade now, there has been no global warming. Even though atmospheric carbon dioxide continues to accumulate - it's up about 4 percent since 1998 - the global mean temperature has remained flat. That raises some obvious questions about the theory that CO2 is the cause of climate change.
Turns out we just now had an increase in snow in the South and SE coincident with increased snow ~ RECORD BREAKING SNOW ~ in the Mid Atlantic.
Which logically meas that we are seeing signs of Global Cooling.
Worth noting the article begins with the claim that the last decade has been the warmest on record. Of course it's the first decade with a full decade's worth of satellite acquired data ~ in reality it's not comparable to earlier decades.
The slope is negative too. It's getting cooler. Now Dr. Jones says the cooling trend extends over 15 years and "sorry old chap", he's lost the database!
Liberals...don't look now but your hypocrisy is showing.
I say shut it all down! Send ‘em all back to their home offices, and let them all cast their votes from their home state offices!
And put it all on local TV, so all of their constituents can keep a close eye on each and every one of them!
