Does anyone really care?
I’m recording it on the Mac (with a tuner, it’s like a TIVO/DVR), and then can fast forward past the commercials, or save good skiing clips for later mimicking!
Thanks for the schedule. I could care less about the summer games, but the Winter Olympics is a different story. And they are just up the freeway, making it feel closer to home.
I do! Winter sports rock!
i can stand to watch live TV at all even fox .. good plan
ping
As for me... I can't wait. I love the whole experience. Opening ceremonies tonight!!!
USA! USA! USA!
Georgian luger seriously injured in luge crash
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/vancouver/luge/news?slug=ap-lug-slidercrash&prov=ap&type=lgns
WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP)A mens Olympic luger from Georgia crashed during training Friday and is receiving emergency treatment.
Officials said Nodar Kumaritashvili lost control of his sled, went over the wall of the track and appeared to hit a steel pole near the finish line at the Whistler Sliding Center.
Rescue officials rushed to the scene and were performing chest compressions as well as mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Kumaritashvili was lifted into an ambulance. An air-rescue helicopter was summoned and was in the area over the track about eight minutes after the crash.
That does not sound good at all, prayers up!
What olympics? I did’nt know we still did those?
Women’s Ice Hockey? Is that something new?
I use an eyeTV tuner made by Elgato. (http://elgato.com) They have a model that is Windows compatible, as well - at least for over the air HDTV broadcasts. (In other words, you'd need an antenna.)
The sports I like to watch:
1. Hockey (of course)
2. Downhill skiing
3. Ski Jumping (you must be nuts)
4. Luge (you must be REALLY nuts)
5. Biathalon (you gotta love the idea that 70 years ago today, Finnish soldiers were living for days in the frigid forests, wearing white clothes, skiing around with rifles on their backs and picking off freezing road bound Soviet soldiers. Hey! Let’s turn it into a sport!)
THANK YOU!!!!
I am soooooo happy to see this thread!
Yeah, but it's nothing compared to what will happen when we get the World Cup live threads going later this year.
Womens Ice Hockey was added in the ‘98 games. It is widely played in Europe, and has grown here as univerities add womens teams in order to balance their Title IX requirements.
The USA won the first gold medal. Captained by Cammi Granato, sister of ex-NHL’er and Pittsburgh Penguin Assistant Coach Tony Granato. Cammi is married to ex-Hartford Whaler Ray Ferraro. On the NHL pregame show they were the subject of this classic exchange:
Bill Clement - so, would you say that Ray Ferraro was the best player to ever don the Hartford Whaler jersey?
Brett Hull - Ray Ferraro isn’t even the best hockey player in his own bed!
Comments like that are classic Brett and Bobby Hull.
Well, to be honest, I can do without the IOC corruption and endless pushing of leftist dogma.... But the sports themselves are incredible. There's nothing faster than winter sports!
USA! USA! USA!
No, you're not doing it right:
U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
Let the games begin!
Thanks for doing it for me.
I enjoy the Olympics. Maybe some think I am nuts, but I do.
