Okay, I gave in to morbid curiosity when my husband said Hey, this is cool come look.
We watched the whole white North thing to Vancouver. Loved the whales. That was cool. We went what the heck to the punk, fiddle, river dance thing.
It was okay, but didn’t feel connected. The fat poet really wasn’t that great. I kept thinking they are tryiing too hard. I mentioned the phrase Canada, America’s hat and we laughed through it.Then the erectile dysfunction with the pillar. That was embarrasing. After that we wandered off.

Canada is having some major problems already with this Olympics. I don’t know that I’ll be watching a whole lot but I hope no more atheletes are hurt.

Saw this over on a Rush forum in case anyone was curious about the Ontario/Great Lakes portion of the ceremonies missing:
Well, obviously no Rush tonight. Notice how the show was themed around the different provinces of Canada moving from east to west? Also notice how Ontario and the Great Lakes region were skipped over? What I’m now hearing is that this portion of the show was scrubbed due to nature of today’s tragic events. Apparently it had a full rock and roll metropolitan vibe to it and was cut for sensitivity. The word is now that Rush may tentatively play at the closing ceremony. Sorry everybody - I’m as pissed off as you are.

My wife and I were like...wait...they totally just skipped the Great Lakes region...well maybe they will combine with all of Ontario..wait...nothing...Canadian Rockies...what?!? LOL...it was done at the request of the I.O.C. for sensitivity reasons and time constraints for the moment of silence and speech about his death.
No mention of Toronto which is insane! No CN Tower? No tribute to any of their rock and roll culture whether it be Neil Young, Rush, Nickelback, Tragically Hip..nadda.
They wound up skipping a swing segment with Michael Buble as well. They really did keep it low key when you look at exactly what kind of music was performed. But to skip the entire province of Ontario!?? CRAZY.
