LAKE WORTH, Fla. (NBC) -- A Florida family's Golden Retriever is being called a canine hero, while the family's cat should probably be sent to the "dog house."
Bubba, the retriever, started barking when flames erupted inside the Lake Worth duplex just before midnight.
It started in the front portion of the home, where Saundra Frazer had fallen asleep.
Charles McCauley, who lives in the back of the home with his girlfriend, also heard the barking and came running into the front room where he saw Saundra trying to extinguish the flames with a blanket.

"Or maybe the dog, in true John Kerry fashion, knocked over the candle and started the fire, just so he could be seen as the hero."

Ok, maybe he was a hero and not just barking because he couldn’t turn the lock and get his crooked hiney out of there.
All I’m sayin is, MY dog would have EATEN that candle. Even faster if it had landed in the cat’s litter box.

The cat is trying to frame the dog

Ha! The dog probably knocked the candle over with his tail and woke up the household when the cat pounced on him.

And which Einstein left a burning candle unattended?

The question is who was the irresponsible person who left the candle out?

The question is who was the irresponsible person who left the candle out?Silly. If the candle was out, it could hardly have started a fire.

I wonder where the cat got the idea.
It sounds like a "copy-cat" crime.
Seriously, though, when you take a trip be careful about leaving cats in the house. A friend left her toaster plugged in and her cats in the house and the results weren't pretty.

Friends of mine used to keep an electric heater in the basement to prevent frozen pipes. Some associate critter in the neighborhood got in through the basement one winter night, left a steaming black crater where the house had stood.
They SAID it was “probably a cat.”

The terrible thing is that the cat probably knew exactly what it was doing.
