If this independent review will state whether AGW is real or not, they need not bother, since I already know which way it will go.

Everything, from the data to the models is tainted. Destroy it all and start from scratch if you want some science.

Ten bucks says that this review will conclude something like “hey, mistakes were made but we are,in fact, doomed”.

This is what Congress does... investigate yourself, and find yourself innocent.

So the academic foxes will review the integrity of the academic hen house. Nice, I am confident that the foxes will find everything to their liking. How about we let some real investigators (Scotland Yard) have a look into these e-mails. Maybe conspiracy to defraud the Crown is a punishable crime in England?

WHITEWASH! Too much money is at stake. The problem is too many scientists are clamped onto the govm’t teat instead of being employed by private industry

A few decades ago you had a better percentage of scientists laboring in the private sector instead of feeding at the trough. Lots of them feel they are owed a living. The warm-mongers certainly think they are

What is there to investigate? Didn’t they say they had destroyed the original data? This is just so they can say they got it right. The only thing they will investigate is how they got caught.

Look at this article...
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/02/09/john-lott-joseph-daleo-climate-change-noaa-james-hansen/

From the article:

In a January 29 report, they find that starting in 1990, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) began systematically eliminating climate measuring stations in cooler locations around the world. Yes, that’s right. They began eliminating stations that tended to record cooler temperatures and drove up the average measured temperature. The eliminated stations had been in higher latitudes and altitudes, inland areas away from the sea, as well as more rural locations. The drop in the number of weather stations was dramatic, declining from more than 6,000 stations to fewer than 1,500.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It shows more of the dirty work used to pull off this global warming fraud!

One of these days, I’m going to get a government grant to “investigate” myself.

If Stephen Mcintyre; along with other like-minded skeptics, are the ones doing the review, I might put some credibility in it.

At some point in the recent past, there must have been a board meeting at the University of East Anglia.

The subject of the meeting just had to be “How do we restore our damaged reputation?”

And someone in the meeting had to have suggested “We should have an independent group review the work of the Climate Research Unit”

And this idea was rejected.

= = =

Lack of confidence?
Deliberate whitewash effort?
Afraid of the ramifications?

The Royal Society has a reputation built over centuries with some of the most renowned scientists in history. It’ll be interesting to see if they are willing to throw that away to support the current junk science fad. Hopefully not.
