A pro-amnesty guy.
Mel Martinez left to bring in the big bucks as a lawyer/liar/lobbyist using the big bad-ass Rolodex he built up during five years as a US Senator. My prediction is Lincoln Diaz Bilart will join his lobbying efforts.
If not that he will be staying in DC to live off the fat of the land via lobbying on his own. If Cuban communism falls he’ll make millions in lobbying
A pro-amnesty guy......
not a great guy in my book. He will swiftly morph into a DC lobbyist. Real estate is booming in the Imperial Capital and adjoining suburbs. One huge recession proof roach motel
“Real estate is booming in the Imperial Capital and adjoining suburbs.”
What on earth are you smoking?

“”Diaz-Balart, who has served in the House since 1992, is the 18th House Republican who will not seek reelection in November. Most hail from solidly Republican districts, though Diaz-Balarts Miami-based seat has the potential to be competitiveit delivered 49 percent of the vote to President Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
Democrats made made substantial gains in Diaz-Balarts 21st District during the 2008 presidential election, paring down the 9-percentage-point voter registration edge the GOP enjoyed in 2006 to only three points after the November 2008 election.
Born in Havana, Diaz-Balart is one of the first Cuban-Americans elected to Congress and is a leading hardliner against the Castro-led Cuban government. He faced his toughest re-election campaign in 2008 against former Hialeah mayor Raul Martinez, but comfortably defeated him with 58 percent of the vote.””
Can Dexter Latham run in that district? I know his wife is representing another district, but if Democrats can do this we .... oh never mind.
I heard Dexter speak and I believe he would make a great Congressman.
Do we need a hispanic candidate to win this district? Many of the ex-Cubans are pretty conservative, but may be weak on amnesty.
The Republicans have had an epic fail in distinguishing between hispanic citizens and hispanic illegals. Jorge Bush takes much of the blame for that.
It should be possible to find someone, maybe Hispanic, who makes the distinction.
OK...it’s still the Imperial Capital
You’re funny. :)
His district is 70% Hispanic. Most of the Republicans are Cuban-Americans. The filing deadline is April 30.
thnx!
His brother (Mario Diaz Balart) is confirmed as running for Lincoln’s seat.
Mario Balart will vacate his 52/48 Pub seat for a safe 60/40 seat.
A gringo with a fake Hispanic name might work. Hispanics are very discriminatory against non-Hispanics.
BTW, the only reason this district (I live in his district)gave Obozo 49% of the vote is that we had a large early voting site that attracted alot of the blacks from the neighboring district.
This is a solid Cuban-American conservative district. solidly 60/40
