Just who is meteorologist Jeff Masters, the man behind the dubious Snowpocalypse, global warming "connection" that so many liberals like MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan, Time Magazine and the New Republic have been quoting to spread their global warming propaganda? Over the last few days, in coincidence with Snowpocalypse, the blizzards in the mid-Atlantic that have handed the region its snowiest winter ever, many liberal ideologues have abused the occasion to falsely connect the record snowfall to "proof" of global warming. We've all seen the scientifically challenged rant of Dylan Ratigan on his ultra low-rated show that no one watches and heard of Time Magazine's desperate attempt to misuse Snowpocalypse as verification of global warming. Neither is a scientist, so that begs the logical question, Just where are these liberals getting this bogus connection to global warming from? Enter Jeff Masters, a so-called meteorologist attached to the University of Michigan's Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences Department.

Dr. Masters has a phD from Michigan in Meteorology. He is a respected professional when it comes to hurricane prediction. His carrying the water for the AGW scam has been hurting his reputation though.
where’s the old AGW crowd...with mann & jones & the rest. shouldn’t they be jumping up and down with glee that their warming hoax has been vindicated with all this snow? what’s up with only hearing from a newcomer
crazy crazy crazy
“Nobelist Al Gore latched on to the notion of CO2 induced global warming while taking a survey science course at Harvard.”
Thats interesting. I did figure that his daddy bought him a diploma from Harvard, but I wondered what had put him onto AGW, other then the smell of money.
Us Tennesseans know what a fraud he is. Thats why he did not carry Tennessee when he ran for POTUS.
I missed the attack on Bush, and I know I would have posted a counter if he had. On the other hand, I think few would disagree that he and a few of his other trailing bloggers are some of the best at hurricane prediction. I just wish they would stay focused there instead of playing the political AGW bs.
Harsh winters including deep snows (increased percipitation) and lower temperatures are predicted by Climate Change models and always have been. These conditions were the focus of one of the Hollywood films on the subject. It wasn’t one weather reporter, its always been a part of the prediction, one they got right.
Heat makes weather cold and snowy.
What are you going to believe, me or the evidence of your miserable lying eyes?
You are behind the curve...Ocean Acidification due to man made increase in CO2 is the new mantra.
Do not worry about that scare. It will be utterly destroyed.
Just keepin’ up with the latest in ‘earth sciences.’ /s
You are referring to a movie based on book written partly by Art Bell. The same guy who believes in UFO abductions. There is no science in Hollywood. They have absolutely no concept of physics. There was no AGW predictions stating that snow would occur in areas that are normally too warm to have snow. If there were, please provide a time stamped link.
“AGWT is extremely robust with respect to data. All observations confirm it at the 100% confidence level.”
I hope this is sarcasm. The “A” in “AGWT” (which by the way should still be referred to as “CAGWT”) has never been confirmed by anything, and is extremely questionable.
Current Science is way behind that curve. I first heard about that new scare about 3 years ago from a PhD professor.
Remember he developed the theory of different types of CO2....light and heavy the bad and the good...just another twit!
“Harsh winters including deep snows (increased percipitation) and lower temperatures are predicted by Climate Change models and always have been.”
Nope. You’re thinking of the theory that predicts excessive fresh water (melt) in the North Atlantic could stop the Gulf Stream current for decades, causing cold temperatures on the US East Coast and Europe. The movie was the ridiculous (from a scientific point of view) “The Day After Tomorrow”. The theory may have some merit (quite different form the movie though), but such a scenario is NOT currently being observed, nor is it expected to happen in the foreseeable future.
The fact is that Global Warming should be expected to produce widespread high temperature records over the course of the year. Instead, what we’ve seen are thousands of LOW temperature records being broken on a widespread basis. China is having its coldest winter since 1971, for instance.
Widespread low temperatures are directly contradictory to Anthropogenic Global Warming theory. It’s a crock.
wu = weather underground.... kind like du :)
Then I guess I’ll just have to shut up.
Bye
Correct, apparently Global warming theory predicts the ability to have winters with more precipitation.
There are two issues with this.
The first is that whether we have a mild winter with little snow or a winter with heavy snow both are proof of global warming. It is nonsense. What we are seeing is within normal fluctuations of weather from one season to another and do not need global warming to explain.
The second issue is proving that increased average global temperatures of a few degrees would actually increase snow fall substantially. Its a hypothesis that sounds true but is it?
We all know that warmer air will hold more moisture so the potential for more snow might be there. Even my limited understanding of weather says there are so many other factors like wind patterns, terrain, atmospheric pressure that predicting that an outcome like major snowfall in DC is a consequence of global warming.
Even if I were a staunch believer of this GW theory, I would be very hesitant to link these storms to global warming and not to normal fluctuations of weather.
“Worst snowfall ever”?
Well if I recall, New York State, Pennsylvania and N/E States were recently covered by about a half mile of snow and ice no less than 12,000 years ago. But then, afterall, these are the “smartest” people in the room. Thank God they are here to protect us!....
