I posted this about a month ago but like the author I too want to see people start taking this seriously, though I am sure I will get a number of 'OH NOES' replies. Things are dark and getting darker so you need to decide if you plan to take care of yourself and your family or stand in line an wait for some 'guberment' stooge to decide if you eat and how much.
In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but the foolish man devours all he has.
Proverbs 21:20
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest"
Proverbs 6:6-8
"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences."
Proverbs 27:12

We’ve been discussing food storage in my house. This is a good way to start. Thanks.
If nothing else, if the inflation begins that some people think, food is a good investment.

when you can goods, you might want to think about melting wax to seal the lid to the jar, basically ensuring no oxygen gets to the foodstuff. imho.

I became interested in canning a little over a year ago. I love to cook, and I love to eat good food. Canning is so rewarding in many aspects. One, is the fact that you can make a huge stock pot of soup, chili, stew, or anything... and eat for months to come on your pantry supplies. I also love to share my food with friends. It makes me very happy to be able to cook something delicious and share it! When you can, the food is good for virtually a million years. Unlike freezing, where you are totally dependent on the freezer.

Lets talk about canning..if you are looking to pressure can
you cannot use a glass top stove..nor an outside propane barbeque cooker with a side burner...I am working on changing out my glass top for an electric stove...I may have to look in the dump for it..preferably a gas top stove. Unfortunately for me..I don’t have the gas top option. Will be hitting the farmers market this spring to find good canning stuff.
