I’m pretty sure the ‘Rats did stay in session to prevent recess appointments, but I don’t thing the GOP has that kind of backbone.

You may be right but the Repubs do best as the opposition party in the minority. They lose their cahones when they win elections.

I don't think the pubbies can prevent recess; it is up to the Speaker and Majority Leader. Backbone is not an issue.
