PHOENIX, ARIZONA. FEBRUARY 10, 2010. Conservative J.D. Hayworth will conclude his statewide media tour announcing his Republican primary challenge to 24-year incumbent John McCain at Leisure World, a senior community McCain infamously dubbed seizure world.
The Leisure World event will take place on February 17th at 908 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. Prior to becoming a 73-year old senior himself McCain derided the well-known retirement community.
Most of the people coming here are not senior citizens moving to Leisure World, I mean Seizure World, I mean, uh, Sun City...I mentioned Seizure World a moment ago...the last election in 1984, 97% of them came out to vote. I think the other 3% were in intensive care."
According to a member of the audience, McCain characterized seniors as a group "that makes demands without contributing." (Source: Casa Grande Dispatch | Casa Grande, Arizona | Friday, June 20, 1986)
From Tea Parties in Tennessee to Tea Parties in Leisure World, this campaign is about mobilizing conservatives who have no interest in granting election-day amnesty to an inconsistent incumbent who calls himself a maverick, but who is really a moderate, Hayworth said.
A new website --- www.jdforsenate.com -- has debuted in support of the announcement tour. More information about Hayworth and his challenge to the moderate McCain will be released Thursday morning. The announcement tour will start at 10am on Monday, February 15th from the campaigns new headquarters in north Phoenix. The address is 3129 E. Cactus Rd. Suite 31, Phoenix, Arizona 85028.
Since leaving his radio talk show to pursue this conservative challenge, Hayworth has already garnered endorsements, donations and grassroots enthusiasm across the state and country.
Vulnerable to the more conservative Hayworth on taxes, social issues and illegal immigration, McCain has resorted to attacking Hayworth on spending, despite Hayworth having a better lifetime rating from Citizens Against Government Waste.
McCain also voted for the $850 billion bailout of the big banks which included $150 billion in pork, proposed a $300 billion bailout for mortgage lenders and vigorously supported an amnesty bill in 2007 that would have, according to the Heritage Foundation, cost taxpayers $2.6 trillion over the long-term.

Seniors vote. Oh, do they ever vote...
Juan McCain is delusional. I guess he thinks he is a young stud because of his creepy wife and young & stupid daughter. It is time for this SOB to be retired and tar & feathered.

Juan, I'd say that your political career is now in intensive care!
Go JD Go!
Nothing would be more positive for the Conservative movement than to retire the Liberal John McCain
Yup.
Regardless of the outcome, JD is holding McCain’s feet to the conservative fire. If it wasn’t for JD entering this race, McCain would have seized on some ‘historic opportunity’ to ‘reach across the aisle’ to his Democrat friends on Cap N’ Tax, Amnesty, or Death Care by now.
Don’t think that McCain won’t be re-elected.
JD got booted out of the House because he strongly opposed illegal immigration. Liberals and business people who like illegal immigrations (read, homebuilders, commercial RE builders, restaurant owners, etc) all joined together to squash JD.
It will happen again. The fact that JD is similar to Ron Burgundy’s news team, as in shallow, doesn’t help.
There are so many in favor of illegal immigration it isn’t funny. Eg, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid never suffer the effects of their costs (since they are multi-millionaires) and live in protected neighborhoods.
I think if Juan loses the primary, he will go the Lieberman route, and run as an independent. He damn near became a Democrat during the Bush years, and he has no party loyalty. JD should get him to pledge not to do that if he loses. Not that Juan lives by his pledges, but it will make the voters mad when he changes his mind.
Currently he is proposing a bill that makes vitamins and health food store products have requirement for needing a prescription to obtain thses products. Which takes the peoples choice out of it. How many of us are going to the doctor to get a prescription for vitamnin C? or fish oil? or CoQ10 ? etc.
This will drive the price of ordinary things like Lutein to double or triple. Health foods and nutrients builders are not the cause of deaths. Perhaps overdosing on Tylenol, Advil, or aspirin, is possible. Prescription control of it will have not benefit to the public. On the contrary it makes it a burden to afford increased pricing caused by government intervention. Many senior citizens live on social security and are limited retirements.
God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.
Projection.

So F them. Most of the ones here in AZ are bankrupt anyway. Either from “shoddy construction” lawsuits, or the collapse of RE here.
The only threat to defeating McCain is the popularity of Palin. If she goes all out for McCain, enough lummox voters might be swayed.
That could well be. However, I met a teacher from AZ at a conference not too long after JD lost. She was of the opinion that the reason for this was, and I quote, "The election was stolen from him."
One down and one McCain to go! Simcox is broke.
US Senate campaign of border vigilante Chris Simcox is BROKE, debts piling up fast as contributions slow to a trickle
Former Minuteman Civil Defense Corps president turned United States Senate candidate, Chris Simcox of Arizona, just filed his year-end campaign finance report with the Federal Elections Commission.
Chris Simcox is in serious financial trouble.
As of January 28, 2010, the Simcox for Senate campaign committee has only $2,684.65 cash-on-hand.
JD Hayworths former campaign committee spent more than that on frou-frou steak dinners.
The most recent FEC filing shows that Simcox has an obvious inability to raise money.
From October 1 December 31, 2009, the Simcox for Senate campaign was only able to raise a net amount of $28,654.75; but, much of that total came from outside of Arizona.
Simcoxs principle campaign committee now lists over $168,000 in debts, nearly a 50% increase in red ink from the $114,000 in debts listed on his last quarterly filing, through September 30, 2009.
Dont look for Simcox to bow out gracefully any time soon.
Hes been shunned by most Minuteman and Border Patriot affiliates, due to accusations of fiscal mismanagement and his penchant for good old-fashioned crazy talk.
One cant imagine just what kind of gainful employment Simcox might try now, since this Senate race isnt working out quite the way hed planned.
Simcox the spoiler might be gone, but Simcox the dreamer is not.

Glad JD stepped up!
In my mind McCain is becoming more like Obama every day. He's childish, lashes out at people and believes that somehow he's "the one" to lead.
Got to get those tax dollars from somewhere.
