NEW YORK—Newly released aerial photos of the Sept. 11, 2001, World Trade Center attack show the towers coming down from a dramatic new angle.

According to the caption the photos were taken by an NYPD detective.
Good question - why did it take an FOIA request to get them out and kudos to ABC news for getting these released.
Amazing, disturbing, photos.
ABC filed a FOI request and got 9 CDs of 2700+ photos.
The slideshow contains 9 of them.
So far the media sits on images from that day. Especially any images of actual dead bodies.
They will show pictures of dead troops and dead Iraqi civilians, etc. but no dead people from 9-11-2001 so it becomes about a building and not 3,000 people.
Not enought water to do much, I’d think.

It was a war zone. And KSM committed a war crime. But this president is only willing to try US military as “war criminals”. KSM is committed a “crime crime” to be handled in US courts.
You just know that in basements across America tin-foil hat Truthers are breaking out their magnifying glasses trying to find some anomaly that can’t be explained and tying that in with why these were released years later. Mark my words, before the end of the day they will be updating their blogs with new conspiracy stuff.
Probably not. Certainly not enough to actually extinguish the fire, but maybe, just maybe, it would have kept the steel cool enough to delay or prevent its buckling.

If it is FOI, why would only the media be allowed access?
By no means am I an expert on FOI, but the name itself implies that any American citizen would qualify.
There were probably some nasty winds near the buildings too.
It does make me think of creating helicopters for the purpose, though. If you built them from the start for doing the job, they could probably be more effective.
It still shocks me because I spent so many lunch hours sitting by the fountain between the two towers, and it was always great for people watching. Now, it’s like it was another lifetime ago.

The choppers would have needed the water tanks and other apparatus already installed, and the amount of water a few choppers could have gotten up there to those two buildings in that small amount of time would have not mattered much overall.
