I thought the same thing watching them last night.....would NEVER buy an Audi after watching that ad.
They could have made their point with a lighter treatment of the issue. Their ad might well have been written by George Orwell.
It was a great commercial. It was genius in its ability to ridicule the greens. And this coming on the heels of Climategate. Wow!
Was the idea that if everybody bought an Audi then that would help the environment so much that there wouldn’t need to be any “green police.” If so they didn’t say. I call the ad a downer despite its name recognition and think it will spur people to the competition, maybe even a bit gas guzzling like Ford trucks.
I think the commercial was a picture of how fanatic the “green” people have been getting lately. It pointed out how far the government will go to infringe upon the rights of its citizens.
If you are a globull warming/climate change cultist your hero "green police" are like you , true believer zealots, just with a cutaway before the summary execution of the ignorant, unwashed offender.
If you are a Marxist fighting patriot, the green contra-Constitutional eco-terrorists are portrayed in absolute accuracy.
Cut the last few seconds of the Audi diesel being given a pass by the watermelon jackboots and it is the perfect political satire.
