I agree the controversy backfired in the critics.
I don’t know if you saw the Tebow ad in the Super Bowl or not, but there are some links to it in this article and some additional information about Tim Tebow, his foundation, and his family’s Evangelistic Association...
It’s good to see the Gospel of Salvation, through the free gift of Jesus, Messiah, paying the penalty of sin and death for anyone who may choose to avail themselves of that salvation.
And to think..., that “Salvation” gets exposure in a Super Bowl Ad... :-)

Yeah, and if I had not heard of the controversy and read up on it... and if I saw the ad without knowing this -- I would have no idea what the ad was about...
So, it was all the "controversy" that catapulted it into the limelight... which might have been the strategy from Focus on the Family in the first place... :-)
Reports indicate Obama left shortly beore Tebow's prayer -- and the video of his prayer shows Tebow not mentioning Obama.

Thanks for giving a news article reference to that fact...
Is it any surprise that the MSM was silent on Obama’s leaving this prayer breakfast?
Do you remember when Clinton was president and Mother Theresa gave a speach at a prayer breakfast and spoke out against abortion?
Everyone gave her a standing ovation. Except Bill and Hillary. They sat on their hands.

I must not have caught that one back then, because I don't remember it (or else I forgot it... LOL...).
BUT, I'll tell you what I appreciate the most about the Tebows -- and that's their Salvation Message that they give (as I've indicated in some of the links up above, like the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association).
The most important thing before all politics and before even our government and how it operates or whether there are Democrats or Republicans in there, or even before the abortion issue, itself -- is -- the Salvation of Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and how one qualifies to be saved.
That's the number one message of all messages -- and then the other messages come second and on down the list... :-)
The Tebows seem to know that... that Salvation is first...
PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER BREAKFAST ?
On their knees facing east, with their forehead on the floor?
And it was good to have someone like Tim Tebow there, giving God's word for anyone who would hear...
Getting God's word out, and the message of His Salvation is actually the most important message that could be given in this country, above all other messages. It's number one, and then other messages come after that one... :-)
The National Prayer Breakfast is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C., on the first Thursday of February each year. The founder of this event was Abraham Vereide.[1] The eventwhich is actually a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinnershas taken place since 1953 and has been held at least since the 1980s at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue N.W.
The breakfast, held in the Hiltons International Ballroom, is attended by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries. The National Prayer Breakfast is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a conservative Christian organization more widely known as "The Family." Initially called the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, the name was changed in 1970 to the National Prayer Breakfast.
It is designed to be a forum for political, social and business leaders of the world to assemble together and build relationships which might not otherwise be possible. ("[T]he breakfast is regarded by the Family as merely a tool in a larger purpose: to recruit the powerful attendees into smaller, more frequent prayer meetings, where they can 'meet Jesus man to man.'"[2]) Since the inception of the National Prayer Breakfast, several U.S. states and cities and other countries have established their own annual prayer breakfast events.
The event has been criticized by organizations such as American Atheists and the Freedom From Religion Foundation,[3] who describe it as violating separation of church and state.
Amen to that ST!
GOD makes good when evil tries to rein!
The Fellowship, also known as the Family, is an international organization founded in 1935 and has been led by Douglas Coe since 1969. Its members include scores of high ranking U.S. government officials, corporate executives, heads of religious and humanitarian aid organizations, and non-U.S. leaders and ambassadors. It has been described by prominent evangelical Christians as one of the most politically well-connected fundamentalist organizations in the US.
The core purpose of this group is to provide a private forum for public officials to hold Bible Studies, prayer meetings, worship services, or to share their troubles. In Newsweek, Lisa Miller writes that the common love for the teachings of Jesus binds this group together and all approaches to understanding him are acceptable.
The group is most widely known for organizing prayer groups throughout the United States and around the world, including the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, later renamed the National Prayer Breakfast. Every sitting United States president since 1953 has attended the event.
The Fellowship generally practices strict secrecy about its members or activities and eschews publicity and asks its members not to speak about the group; some members have denied that the Fellowship exists.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
Tibow will have reward of God Almighty.
OThuga, short of confession, repentance, changing his demonized ways . . . will have the opposite.
He will regret ever leaving that prayer breakfast.
Thx. If you have a pinglist I would like to be on it.
