Fewer registered voters nationwide -- 44% -- currently approve of President Barack Obamas job performance than disapprove -- 47%. When Marist last asked about the presidents approval rating in December, 46% thought well of Obamas job performance while 44% gave him low marks. Perhaps, particularly concerning for Mr. Obama is the drop in support among Independents. For the first time since taking office, a majority of Independents -- 57% -- disapproves of how he is doing in the role. 29% approve, and 14% are unsure.

My thoughts exactly. The first line-of-defense — keeping Obama’s approval number above 50% — has already been breached. The current line is to keep his ‘disapproves’ BELOW 50%. Don’t know how long that they can keep that charade going, however.
Marist is covering for Hussein. He really ought to be at 9% approval, 80% disapproval, 11% “not sure”.
