Happy Birthday, BSA! We have four Scouts in the family currently: Der Prinz (Anoreth’s dad) is Assistant Scoutmaster, Bill is a Life Scout, Tom is a Star Scout, Pat is a Wolf Cub, and James will be a Tiger Cub in the fall, with two Brothers to follow, so far.
I wish the US had a combined Scouting program, with girls and boys doing the same program, even if they did it in separate units. Everyone I know who has done Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts agrees that the BSA has the better program, easier for the adults to work, better arranged for the children.
Der Prinz is noodzing me about being a Tiger Cub leader for James, and I’d rather do that than lead Girl Scouts again (4 years ...), not because I don’t like working with the girls, but because the program is just so much better.
