Yep! It was quite a weekend for them! They are going to have so much
to see and do! It would be nice if they already have a place
to live, but their stuff is still on the dock in USA probably. LOL!
(or do they fly stuff over now. They used to send it by ship)

I reckon it still gets shipped over.
If he has a good sponsor, he has temporary quarter waiting on him. His sponsor would meet Tx and his family at the airport with keys to the place, would stock the fridge with basics, and would give Tx instructions on how best to beat the jet lag.

I remember showing up at the airport in Frankfurt enroute to Augsburg - no sponsor - Nana and I were sent to a waiting bus with instructions to ask at the bus station in Augsburg for the number to the staff duty officer. Dragging two big suitcases through 6 inches of fresh snow was not fun.
