Obama didn’t use the teleprompter to speak to the kids. He used is afterward to speak to the press. That aside, this is being blown out of proportion by people who will criticize Palin for anything she does.

Yeah..so..it was her speech..if she wants to use little crib notes who cares. No one can memorize a 40 min speech by heart..She had guts to go up there and speak to thousands of people and knowing that millions would be watching on TV..she was amazing last night

At least Palin is right handed. Not a left handed freak like Hussein (with due apologies to left handed FReepers)

There is nothing wrong with Sarah using notes. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with Obama using a teleprompter.

I dont think she “used hand notes to answer a question”- she had 4-5 one word topics written on her hand

better a hand note than a foot note!
Seriously, this all too ridiculous and stupid. There are more important things to be concerned with.
Gov Palin has a brain and she knows how to use it. I bet she'd be able to make a coherent decision at 3am without turning on the light.

In before the Palin bashers says shes done and a quitter 2/3rds Governor (wipes spittle from corner of mouth) Dang it, you beat me to it.........
You forgot she's dumb too.

I'll bet Sarah Palin has never referred to “57 States”, the “Marine Corpse”, or and never referred to the “bomb they dropped on Pearl Harbor”. Nothing wrong with notes.
They are used all the time by politicians, but they are not referred to as notes; rather charts and graphs. Watch the House and Senate on C-Span — you will see Reps. and Senators using them all the time.

Agree. Absolutely. I had no problem with her doing that. I would have had to do the same. Wait..I would have had to use one of my thighs I would need so many notes. Ok fine..both thighs.

I know exactly how some would react if any democrat had notes written on their palm. The least we can do is be honest.Facts not in evidence. I just don't see this as a viable argument. You're supposing some would react the same as they would against a teleprompter. That's all.
People making speeches use notes and flat out written material every day. There's nothing wrong with that. Making notes on one's hand is nothing more than being prepared. It's a far cry from one totally relying on a teleprompter to get them through a speech, and ill-equipped without one.
I have sincere doubts anyone here would have an issue with such habits.

Until she learns to use a Presidential aid like a Teleprompter, Sarah Palin simply is not ready for the Oval Office...;)
