After days of deliberation, CBS has elected not to air an ad from a gay dating site during next week's Super Bowl.
A rep for the network tells Pop Tarts that ManCrunch.com's "Playing for the Same Team," an ad featuring two men kissing, failed to meet CBS' broadcasting standards.
CBS Standards and Practices has reviewed your proposed Super Bowl ad and concluded that the creative is not within the Networks Broadcast Standards for Super Bowl Sunday, the official rejection letter stated. Moreover, our Sales Department has had difficulty verifying your organizations credit status.
The commercial shows two men excitedly watching the game, before their hands brush as they both reach into a bowl of chips. Seconds later, the two begin making out

Which you can bet is exactly why the threw out the request. In the end it is a business and it is ALWAYS about money where business is concerned. It is the reason for which they exist, unless they are charitable in nature.
Why on earth would any business temp alienation of 97% of the population for a few thousand dollars, especially from a concern whose reliability in paying is in question?
The goal of Super Bowl ads is to make money and capture the viewers attention so they watch the game.
An ad showing two guys making out is likely to end the party amid projectile vomiting.
Have to go with CBS on this one, as painful as that is.
The Superbowl is the mother lode of all “earned media”. All of those reporters filling a whole week of airtime with nothing at all. It is a PR man’s dream.
IMHO, this is just another PR stunt looking for a little cheap publicity off of the Superbowl. There is no way in Hell these guys had enough money to air an ad, so instead they have gotten all sorts of airplay as the “forbidden” ad.
It is an effective tactic, no doubt. But let’s not pretend that CBS actually banned them, or anything. The worst thing in the World that could have happened to these guys was to have CBS say, “OK, we’ll run you ad. Now hand over the Two Million Dollars”...
I guess fags like to watch football too....
....though for different reasons.
go daddy probably
It’s time to retire that ad. Every time I see it, I’m reminded of my only (bad) experience at Hooters.
CBS should have said, “Sure. Bring it on.” I’m guessing that the site in question didn’t have the $2 million plus necessary to pay for the slot and requested the time with the expectation that CBS will do what they did and reject the commercial. Then they reap the free publicity.
Yep, that’s Go Daddy. And watch makes the commercial extra hetero is that the company CEO is a retire Marine. Girls with giant hooters and Marines, is doesn’t get more hetero than that.
Go Daddy has also had many Superbowl Ads rejected.
FDRQ:
Filthy disease ridden queer. Invented by conservative forum freerepublic.com users as a replacement for words like "fag" and "queer" in order to avoid censorship.
Freeper: Guys, check this out, instead of saying "fag" like we used to now we say "fdrq" for "filthy disease ridden queer". Nobody will ever suspect us of being bigoted gay haters that way!
Or
Freeper: I cant think for a faster way to end up dead that a fdrq grabbing my @ss.
Passerby: I do not know what this man is talking about, it does sound like innocent banter and not at like gay-bashing, this man must be without a doubt an upstanding gentleman.
I can’t type this morning (last post a few typos).
Go Daddy is a domain name registration, hosting, etc site. godaddy.com.
Does anybody know why Pepsi isn’t putting on ads this year?
I just heard on FOX that there will be no ads.
